Can you ovulate and not have a period?

I’m hoping to start ttc baby number 2 soon. I stopped breastfeeding DC1 about 2 months ago and I haven’t had a period yet. I’ve got PCOS so it took my a while to conceive DC1 with the aid of Metformin and Inositol.

Since stopping breastfeeding I’ve been taking Inositol again and I’ve had cramps and lots of ewcm but no sign of a period. I’ve read online that you can potentially ovulate without having a period but I’m just wondering if anyone has had similar experiences? I have no idea what my body is doing.

if you ovulate then you always have a period. You can also have a period without ovulating but definitely when you ovulate, the lining is shed 2 weeks later. Either that or you get pregnant.
I have pcos too, and from all the stuff I’ve read up, the only time you don’t have a period is when you haven’t ovulated

how long were you taking inositol for? If you want to induce period, you can also take progesterone only birth control for a few days and then stop, this usually causes a bleed. I’ve read it is used for when someone is preparing for fertility treatment and they want to induce a new cycle. It also happened to me in the past any time I took a morning after pill

@Peachyplumm thanks for your response. To conceive DC1 I was taking Metformin and Inositol for 6 months but I was given progesterone to induce a period as they weren’t happening naturally.

I’ve been back on Inositol for just a month so hopefully it will start things working again.
