Help! Test confusion!

Hello!

I'm so confused, please help me!

Will start by saying I am still breastfeeding my 7 month old and my periods haven't yet returned. No idea when I might have ovulated. Helpful I know.

Anyway, I began having achey boobs the other day and so took a test incase. Took a clear blue early detection on Friday and it came up with a faint positive within about a minute.
Took another next morning and same again.
I have taken several to make sure 😳 and have all come back positive. Todays was darker but still not really strong.

However, I have also taken some others-easy@home and an asda own brand and they have all been negative.

I know they won't be as sensitive as the early detection one but since it's been 4 days since that first faint positive, wouldn't it show up on regular tests by now?

Does it seem like a chemical? Just weird that the clear blue is darker today!

Has anyone experienced anything like this? I just want to know!!!

Thanks!

Is it possible that you are pregnant, as in, are you having sex without contraception?
Do you want to be pregnant?

Mermaidmotels · 13/06/2023 17:40

No contraception-we would love another one so yes would be happy to be pregnant. Just wouldn't expect it to be this quick. It took well over a year for my periods to return after my first child.

That's good. It is quite possible that you are pregnant. I'm not an expert on tests but someone will probably know better than me.

Thank you for replying.
Yes it is just confusing that I am getting mixed results!

We got pregnant 3 months after our son with twins lol. Tests said all negative and it was only the Dr's blood test which eventually showed it. They said a mix of hormones from feeding son etc made shop tests not detect it anyway we now have twin 1 year olds and a 2 and loving it

Wow amazing! How lovely.
That's so interesting. I've not heard that before.

@LadyJ2023 I've heard this, something about the hormone profile of someone who is breastfeeding being confusing for most tests.

might be worth booking in with your dr for a blood check OP rather than wasting your money on more tests? Particularly if you have no clue when you could have ovulated.

fingers crossed for you :)

Thank you for your reply.
I had no idea this was a thing!
Maybe I'll ring GP then because I really don't know what's going on.
Thanks for the advice.
