I'm wondering now if AF has turned up. I thought it might have been ovulation spotting but it slightly more than just spotting. I got a +ve OPK on cd36 and had scan on cd43. Sonographer said it looks as though I've ov'd but couldnt be sure. So assuming this opk was correct and Af has arrived (very very subtly) that would give me a luteal phase of 23/24 days! is this possible? I do have PCOS btw. And am completely aware that OPKs are not a good idea. So now assuming this OPK was wrong and sonographer was wrong then could I be ov'ing very late? I'm now CD60

Maybe I'm just weird then. Come on, there must be someone out there who's had a similar experience?

You could be ov'ing now, it's unlikely that you'd have a luteal phase of more than 16/17 days unless there was a corpus luteum cyst (very very rare). It's much more likely that you didn't ovulate when you got the positive OPK.

I had two cycles where I got a positive OPK (CBD smiley) and then didn't get AF till 4 weeks later. It means I definitely didn't ovulate when I got the positive opk and more likely ovulated later, or not at all.

If you're spotting then it could be an anovulatory bleed, where the uterine lining has built up a little over your follicular phase and is now breaking down. With no egg to implant and no corpus luteum to break down you won't have a proper AF but a much lighter bleed.

opks show the hormonal surge but it is possible to get the surge and still not ovulate.

Sorry to say this but think this is all due to PCOS. Looks like the OPK picked up an LH surge but as you are aware not all surges are automatically followed by ovulation. Also with PCOS as well an excess of LH to FSH is likely.

I would not think that you are actually ovulating at such a late stage.

bummer
So, I wonder if this is CD1 now? or just spotting?

FL - CD1 sounds better than CD60, might be nice to have a fresh start...but remember to keep an eye out for other ov signs like EWCM, it might come along sooner than CD14. Have you tried acupuncture or reflexology to try and regulate your cycles? Also, a few women on here with PCOS recommend a book that helps you manage it through diet and exercise.

But please don't think you'll never ovulate, I'm a firm believer in positive thinking and I'm convinced it helped me get a BFP. PCOS can be managed and lots of women with it have got BFPs.
