For background - just had 5th laparoscopy to treat endometriosis, coil removed during this time as was told based on ovarian function I'm unlikely to ever conceived naturally so wanted to come off any sort of hormones. Never had a period in ten years of the coil although were fairly regular before then. Partner (now-ex) has a child already but needed treatment to do so, although now says he is confused as one sperm count test was low and one apparently normal...

Now-ex is a friend who I thought would develop into something more. Agreed that he would pull out when we had sex - yes I know that was stupid and naive but given the issues above thought we would be ok. However, a fortnight ago there were two occasions where he didn't quite get the timing right - I was fuming with him but it is what it is

Not had a period since coil removal but understand it can take a while. However have been feeling bloated and had cramps for the past few days. I know I need to take a test and have bought one but don't know when is best to take it - tomorrow will be two weeks but do I need to wait longer? I'm so conflicted if it's positive as it might be the only chance I get to have a child but the timing and the partner is all wrong and to be honest I thought I'd made my mind up that having kids wasn't for me

I think they say wait 3 weeks after intercourse but no harm in testing now.

If you ovulated 14 days ago, it is likely to show on a test now.

When was your coil removed? X

@Redpanda21 it was removed on 15th May. I've no idea about ovulation etc as I've never had regular cycles in so long

Just take the test, it’s highly unlikely to be positive any way based on all you’ve said

@havewemetbefore I took the plunge and bought one of the early detector ones, negative. I'm definitely relieved
