I’ve just made the decision to quit my teaching job and look for a different career. The stress of the job is causing me high cortisol levels and will not help conception and could ruin ivf chances of success too. HOWEVER I am under care of fertility doctor, been told I have low egg reserves and partner has low sperm count. They have not ruled out getting pregnant naturally but recommended IVF - to start March/ April. I’m our recent appointment they were concerned about records of my genetic heart condition - so am waiting for the cardiologist to confirm it’s ok. They may not. Which would mean I would have to go private? I’m worried I’ve done a stupid thing quitting. My partners business isn’t doing that well…. And Although I will be payed until 1st September. I’m worried that if I got pregnant naturally this month I’d be screwed in terms of maternity pay…. Starting a new job pregnant….and what if I get sick doing ivf? I don’t know much about maternity rights and sick pay outside of the teaching industry. Any help and advice hugely appreciated
