2nd Chemical Pregnancy in a row

Hi Guys,

Feeling pretty deflated and heartbroken, I've just had my second chemical pregnancy in a row.

I had an ectopic pregnancy start of this year in January and was given the all clear for TTC again in March. April I fell pregnant but was super faint tests that faded away and I started bleeding a week after.

Starting trying again and I couldn't believe it but I fell pregnant again in May but with same issue that tests are super faint and this mornings one is even fainter so I just know what is happening here.

I've not got any children, I'm so desperate to be a mum. I'm not sure why I'm here but I any positive stories of people who have had multi chemical pregnancies did you go onto have a healthy pregnancy?

So sorry for your losses. My sister had a MMC followed by 3 very early / chemical losses. She was then given progesterone pessaries and went on to have two healthy pregnancies resulting in my adorable niece and nephew. There is still hope!! Wishing you lots of love and rainbow babies ❤️🌈

Thank you Snooky💕 and congratulations to your sister that gives me a little hope! Did she get tested for progesterone do you know I don't know how to approach this with my Dr x

@lpttc glad to give some hope! I think she was under the recurrent miscarriage clinic by then and giving progesterone is one of the first things they seem to try. As far as I know her levels were never checked. I think I would start by letting your GP know you've now had three losses and asking what the protocol is in your area for being referred to recurrent miscarriage clinic?

How are you doing now? X

@lpttc I'm so sorry to hear you've gone through this. Definitely time to speak to your GP and ask for further tests. I had a mmc in January and then last month a chemical. Back in the TWW and terrified it'll happen again. I've got a doctors appointment tomorrow to see if I can try progesterone as EPAU have suggested it's worth a try.

Hi @lpttc

so sorry to hear what you had to go through. I’m in a similar situation now having just had a second chemical. I wondered if you ended up pursuing getting a progesterone suppository prescription? Any advice you might have a few months on from your original post would be super appreciated x

@rosied31 Hey lovely I'm so sorry too I hope you are doing as okay as you can be.

Unfortunately I've not the best update I've actually had another 2 chemical pregnancies since this post 😭 we've actually stopped trying until we get some answers.

I was referred the recurrent miscarriage clinic in Brighton and they've said it's going to take months to be reviewed and if I need further testing as the drs ran standard blood tests before they referred me.

I've just had 4th chemical last week and I knew it was happening again as my lines were just not getting any darker. I went to my drs and begged them to be put on progesterone but they said it has to be the EPU that can prescribe it. By the time I got home I had started bleeding heavily again so I knew it happened again.

I'm sorry I haven't got any great advice here but we are about to go to a private clinic and speak to a specialist as we feel really let down by the NHS so hopefully I will have some answers soon! Please message me if you want any info on what I speak to the private clinic about sending you lots of love xx

I’m so so sorry to hear that, that is truly heartbreaking. My heart goes out to you and your partner. I wondered if you have spoken to the charity Tommy’s? They have an amazing support line where you can speak to one of their midwives. The lovely woman I spoke to said that you can request a referral from your GP to one of the national miscarriage research hospitals, apparently the one in Coventry (which is obviously miles away if you’re in the south but might be worth looking in to) is supposed to do a lot of groundbreaking research into recurrent miscarriage, it’s led by Dr Siobahn Quenby. They will accept referrals after x2 miscarriages so you’d definitely be more than eligible and they prescribe progesterone as standard there. I’m unsure of what the waiting list is though. I’m going to wait and see what happens with our next cycle before asking for a referral but in the mean time trying to pursue a progesterone subscription privately, unsure of how that is going to pan out though. My chemicals sound really similar to yours, no line progression on tests followed by heavy bleeding - I’m still bleeding 7 days on it’s just so cruel :( sending you big hugs. Xxx

@rosied31 Hey Rosie,

Just wanted to pop back and thank you for your message!

Tommys charity is our next step we think. We actually have a couples MOT at a private clinic in Brighton and they prescribed me progesterone and also some supplements for my partner as his sperm morphology was low! It's called Proxeed and Impryl if you haven't given it a go it's meant to be very good.

Actually 12dpo and had another positive test so I'm praying this one sticks with the progesterone but so very anxious as lines aren't progressing great.

If I have another chemical I'll definitely give Tommys a go.

Hope all is okay with you and I have everything crossed 🤞🏻 with the x
