Trying again after ectopic

So I feel ready to try again for our second baby again after a traumatic ectopic pregnancy in March where I had to have emergency surgery to remove my right fallopian tube.
I'm terrified of trying again but I can't let that stop me from trying.

I want to give myself the best chance with only one tube, we caught first cycle of trying with my ectopic so I'm worried it will take me a long time with only one tube next time.

I am not very familiar with OPKs as I haven't used them before, but think that when trying again now to increase my chances I want to try using them.

Can anyone point me in the right direction for OPKs that you recommend please? Easy to use and read the results, are the cheapy ones as good as Clearblue ones for example?
Any suggestions welcome and I really appreciate it.

Also when do you start OPKs in your cycle? Right after your period you ends or a certain day? I don't really know when I ovulate.

Thank you 😊

Sorry for what you've been through. 😞

So, for testing, I usually start around cycle day 11 and test every day until my peak and then probably 2-3 after that to see it tailing off again. In my case, my AF is usually pretty regular at 28 days and my luteal phase is 14 days so I fit the classic cycle quite well and often ovulate day 14ish. However I do sometimes fluctuate... If I have a 30 day cycle one month, my luteal phase is still 14 days so my ovulation would be a bit later at day 16. Hope that makes sense.

I have only ever used the cheap OneStep internet tests which have been enough for me personally to detect my LH surge and have got me pregnant twice. Some people don't rate them at all though and you will probably get lots of different recommendations depending on people's experiences. Just in practical terms I would say get some cheap ones and see how you go and if they work, no need for more expensive ones! Or for your first month, you could get different ones to see how they compare and what you find easiest to use etc. 😊

Good luck!
