Does bleeding profusely after sex prevent the sperm from reaching the Fallopian tubes?

Hi there

I am 42 and haven’t had any fertility testing so no clue how fertile I am but my cycles come every 27 days like clockwork, I experience ovulation pain and EWCM during my fertile window. My mother had 10 of us and I conceived my daughter on the first try but that was 18 years ago, I think I’m trying to keep my hopes up
I had sex on day 11 of my current cycle but my partner must have injured my cervix as I started bleeding, as soon as I stood up it was dripping down, I bled the rest of the night and the following day, feeling much better now but still a bit sore. My question is does the bleeding cause the sperm to flush out or do I still have a chance of being pregnant?

if anyone has had a similar experience it would be wonderful if you can share it, I am trying to survive another tww but there is little on the subject when it comes to bleeding preventing conception if this is even the case

Many thanks
Adriana

I think if you bleed that much after sex you may need to see a doctor??

I agree that seeing a dr ASAP about the bleeding after sex is more important at the moment. Especially if it was continuous x

Have you had a smear test? I think you should ask for one. Or some kind of cervical examination. I’m sure it’ll be ok but you need checking up on if you’re bleeding so much.

I have cervical ectropion which mean i can get some light bleeding after sex but never for long. I think you should ask for a smear test indeed

Joining the chorus of posters saying see a doctor.

Yes the bleeding was a first for me although I can experience pain in certain positions, the bleeding has completely stopped and I will follow your advice and see a doctor. My biggest uncertainty now is if conception could have happened despite the bleeding or not, these are going to be two very long weeks

You need to see a doctor.
