Polycystic appearance

Hi all,

I have been TTC for some time now, and been going to a fertility nurse for follicle tracking.

I was told that I do not have PCOS and that everything looks normal, then I was told by a different scan that on my right ovary I have a polycystic appearance (to many follicles).

It also appears that my cycles are somewhat regular, but from having the blood tests afterwards, I am not ovulating.

I am currently 16 dpo, and just done a test and unfortunately it was negative 😭

I have to have one more go at follicle tracking and if there is no evidence of me ovulating, I am to starting ovulation medication.

Has anyone had anything similar? Or any success stories with ovulation meds? Anyone have multiple children on these meds?

I am trying to keep positive that hopefully this time next month I will be starting them. It's been a long old road of this fertility tracking and TTC, I could do with someone who's been through or going through something similar.

Thank you,

Bex

Hi, I was ttc 18 years ago. Lap and dye clear, blood tests good, regular cycle, no sign of cysts on ovaries. 3 years of trying with no pregnancy. I mentioned all this to new consultant. I said I have an apple shape and get spots on my back I think therefore I might have pcos and you just can’t see it. She said ok let’s try clomid and I got pregnant immediately. Son born October 2005. Never used contraception since and no more children either. So despite what they said, clomid did the trick and pretty rapidly too.

After I came off the pill many years ago I kept having break through bleeding. I had an ultrasound scan of my ovaries. I was told my ovaries looked polycystic. But that's not enough in and of itself to be diagnosed with the syndrome. I have always had regular periods. Your blood work needs to be done as well to check hormonal profile. I conceived twice, straight away. So although I have polycystic ovaries, I don't have the syndrome. My Dr did say to me though, that if I put on a lot of weight it is likely i could start having symptoms, like periods becoming irregular and not ovulating consistently.

I think you need be investigated a bit more thoroughly so you can figure out what's actually going on.

Hi there, I do have pcos and have finished my first month of clomid. It certainly has helped with ovulation, I think. I ovulated day 19 on it. I had positive opk , ewcm, temp , change, pain ect so 🤞 I did . I've just had my progesterone test done today to confirm if I've ovulated although they've tested me way too early due to bank holiday as I'm only 5dpo , it's supposed to be 7 days after ovulation . I'm on 50mg and had absolutely no side effects what so ever . I put it off for months as I was dreading it as other users on here said it was a horrible drug and they felt awful

I have had all the tests done - on one of the follicle tracking scans they saw a follicle and had be back two days later and it had grown, so I had what date I would be ovulating predicted. Then I had to go and have a blood test to see If I had ovulated - and it appeared that I hadn't. So it's almost like they aren't releasing. Which is so frustrating. Hopefully start ovulation induction meds with next period - they want me to go back and have another follicle tracking apt, then if the hormones aren't what they should be I can start. I believe that they want me to do the LOCI trial xxx
