How long after MC

Hi all I had a MC on Sunday and the only thing getting me through now is the hope of trying again.

I'm still spotting at the minute but just wondering how long after MC did your period come back? And also how long did it take for you to become pregnant again?

I know everyone is different, I have PCOS so can't track my cycles and it took a year to get pregnant the first time so really praying it's shorter this time x

I really feel for you, I have walked in your shoes and remember the desperation. Look after yourself and remember that lots of women do have miscarriages (although we don’t always talk about it) and go on to have babies. I had PCOS and had four miscarriages, they told me there was nothing I could do to improve PCOS and it would be difficult for me to have a baby but I saw research on Low GL diet being effective so did that religiously and took mini aspirin as well as vitamins and mineral supplements. I also tried to lower stress levels. I went onto have two healthy boys and when they did internal scans they said that my PCOS had gone in six months of changing diet, they were very surprised. I had read that you are very fertile straight after miscarriage as it’s the bodies way of compensating so you could try straight away. I would just keep off the sugar and highly processed carbs as much as you can. Good luck lovely, my two boys are proof that it’s tough but not impossible just as my consultant told me at the beginning with her wall of baby pictures that she pointed to.

Hey!

It depends how far along you were too. I had a MMC at 14 weeks in January and was told to expect my period in 4-6 weeks. From date of first bleed to first period after was a 36 day cycle. I'm usually around 28days so not massively longer considering. Second cycle was 30 days, then 28 days and currently on 29th day of this cycle. So my body 'bounced back' pretty quickly even from a 14 week loss. Unfortunately don't seem to have conceived again yet but seems to usually take me atleast 6 months so not losing hope yet.

I'm so sorry for your loss it's the worst thing ever. I'm still in the 'i can only carry on if I focus on getting pregnant again' mindset but it does get easier to cope with as time goes on. Initially I was asking if I would ever feel better, I was in a bad place but you do get there. Travel through the grief however you feel the need to. Sending you baby dust and love for a healthy baby soon x

Thank you @AngelDelight1234 that's really helpful as my diet is quite high in sugar so I'll definitely cut that out moving forwards. Congratulations on your lovely boys x

Thank you @Ttcmumma I'm so sorry to hear about that, I was only just over 6 weeks so can't imagine how it must have been for you. I am hoping I'm able to bounce back quickly too. That's the mindset I find myself it now and not sure if that will ever change, can only wait and see. Baby dust for you too and I hope next time things go well for you x

@Backtobed I'm so sorry for your loss. I had a miscarriage on 16th March at 8 weeks, so I'm only 4 weeks ahead of you. I've been feeling exactly the same, the desperation to be pregnant again is powerful.
I haven't had a period yet but I have ovulated so I'm really pleased that my cycles are coming back relatively quickly. Everyone is different of course but here's my timeline (I miscarried naturally):
7 days post mc bleeding stopped
9 days post mc Negative hcg test
Started opk testing and bbt tracking at this point
3 weeks post mc EWCM and cramps begin
4 weeks post mc (precisely) ovulation

We did dtd during the fertile window but I'm not really getting my hopes up for conceiving this cycle though it's not impossible.

I've also focused on my diet and lifestyle as a sort of positive coping mechanism. I just read the book It Starts With The Egg which I found really helpful, I'm following some of the advice in that. It has specific guidance for people with pcos.

It's hard to believe it's only been 4 weeks since my loss, it has been the longest 4 weeks of my life but I do feel hopeful again now that I've ovulated at least.
