Implantation??? Or First Period Since Coil Removal??

Hi guys,

So I was just wondering what were your implantation experiences?

For a bit of back story, I got my Mirena coil taken out after almost 5 years in February. I bled for a few days but not had a period or any bleeding since. My partner and I have been having unprotected sex since March 1st but I have not been testing for ovulation.

Last Wednesday I had very severe cramping and back pain all day- it felt worse than normal period pain. I think this may have been ovulation as I always experience very painful cramps around when my Flo app says I should be ovulating (even when I had my coil in).

That brings us to last night- I had some very very faint spotting (pink). It was so faint that I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me! I had a little again this morning and then I went for a wee again about half an hour later and there was pinky/red blood. I put a tampon in but I have taken it out after 2 hours and now there is nothing. I felt very sick when I woke up this morning and just feel a little off. My boobs are feeling achy and heavy but the cramps I’m experiencing are very minor and not like period cramps. Could this be implantation or do you think this is just the start of a period?

Thanks!
Chloe

It could be either. I got pregnant first cycle after mirena removal. I was doing ovulation tests and it took 3 weeks after removal to ovulate. This is my third pregnancy and never had any implantation symptoms with any. Implantation bleeds only happen in around 25% of women so not all that common. I’d give it a few days and see if the bleeding increases. Mirena removal can muck up your cycles for several months and make your periods irregular.
