Ovulation fatigue and aging

Hi,

Just popping up a thread to see if there's any others in the same boat as me...exhausted during and after ovulation.

I'm nearing 42 and have a 10 month old and have been trying for #2 soon after she was born.
I seem to conceive very easily (and have very obvious early pregnancy symptoms) however we haven't had a sticky egg...yet :)

However I'm noticing that each month when I ovulate I have 1 - 2 days of major fatigue, light headedness and generally feeling a bit loopy.
I'm sure this never used to happen in the past, it's getting more intense as I age.

It's like it takes so much energy out of me to produce that egg each month.

Anyone else?

And any suggestions as to what supplements might help?

I ovulated yesterday and basically yesterday and today have been write offs for me (thankfully it's the weekend so my husband is here to help)

You might be peri menopausal which can throw many things out of whack, definitely including energy levels. You don't produce an egg, you're born with them all.
Someone more knowledgeable will hopefully advise you more than I can soon.

Good point re peri menopausal, I'll do some reading about this.
My periods are still very regular so hopefully I've got a wee while yet.

I have noticed since birth of my 10month old (also have a toddler) that i am much more hormonal around both ovulation and period times - exhausted / emotional / headachey / periods are a bit longer and heavier.
still very regular though (am not on any BC)

previously my periods would come and go no issue barely noticeable. I don’t know whether it’s the children or my age that causing it, so interested in responses here.
im 38.

My periods are still completely regular and I'm 50 this year. I don't think regular periods is a sure sign of not being peri menopausal if you see what I mean.
