Multiple chemical pregnancies?

Hi everyone

I have been ttc for 1.5 years and after about 9 months I started tracking things more closely with temping and OPKs etc

I have noticed that on some cycles I will get a very faint positive at about 7dpo but then start spotting from 8 or 9 dpo until my period.

On cycles where I don't get any faint lines, I have no spotting before my period. I also never spotted before periods before I started TTC

So I've recently started thinking that I am having recurrent chemical pregnancies or implantation failures, whatever you want to call it :)

If anyone has experienced anything like this I would absolutely love to hear your thoughts....

I haven't experienced this but would consider getting a progesterone 21 day check to see if your levels are high enough. The docs can arrange that for you x

Hi @Tryingtoconceivenumber2 thanks for your response.
Yes I thought the same thing, I've had day 21 bloods done once and they were fine. I also see a sustained temperature rise after ovulation. It's very confusing

That does sound very confusing. Sorry but I don't have any other suggestions other than have the full set of fertility tests to check if it could be anything else. Hope you find your answer x

thanks @Tryingtoconceivenumber2 x

I had this and was sure I was conceiving each time. I ended up getting investigations which showed I had scarring in my uterus. So it couldn't expand once the embryo implanted and I would start spotting a few days before my period up until AF started, but only the months I thought I had conceived. I had the scarring removed and now have DC.

hi @Drumminganimal
Wow that is so interesting to hear... thank you for sharing
Did they find the scarring during a laparoscopy?
I have one booked for April 3rd

I had a hysteroscopy (under sedation) and they found the scarring and cut them out at the same time. I had to do this privately as my gp didn't really believe or understand my concerns, but I knew my body and something wasn't right.

Good you are having investigations done, I know it was a really difficult time for me with not knowing what was happening but knowing there was something wrong.

That's great to hear that trusted yourself and got the treatment needed. I feel like my understanding of my body is always dismissed - for example I needed to do the day 21 bloods later as I often ovulate around day 18 - but the Dr just couldn't believe I didn't ovulate on day 14

I have seen a private fertility specialist once and he prescribed letrozole (which I haven't been able to take yet) and booked a laparoscopy... I wonder if they will also do a hysteroscopy while I am under too

GPs often go by the text book and don't understand that we know a lot of what is going on with our bodies when we are TTC.

I think with a laparoscopy they can see in your uterus anyway -a laparoscopy can check everything- uterus, fallopian tubes etc. So if you had fibroids, endometriosis or scarring etc I think they would be able to see.

Good luck!
