Hi all
I'm booked in for a Hyfosy this Thursday and I just wondered if anyone had any stories about having this treatment? Did it help you? Did it hurt much? I have read about it helping with fertility the first few months after 🤞 anyone have any examples of that happening? Thanksss x

I had one and got pregnant 2 weeks later. May be a coincidence but I fully believe it was down to this💗

For 18 months we were trying. When I had it done, they said my tubes were opened and couldn't see anything to worry about but it obviously flushed something out so v pleased I was offered it

I got pregnant the month after I had a hycosy. No issues detected on it but told it happens a lot in the three months following. Good Luck

It's uncomfortable but didn't hurt.
It made no difference for fertility for me, tubes were clear! I got pregnant a year later xx good luck with ttc

Similar experience - no pregnancies for 18 months of trying then 3 (and two babies) in about 5 cycles after hycosy. Doctor at IVF clinic said that anecdotally it happens a lot.

Don't pin your hopes on it too much, but don't let DP go on any long work trips for the next couple of months, just in case.

Me too - twice! Pregnant same month, Consultant was known to use it before any other investigations.

Had a hycosy 9 months ago, had 1 chemical since then and nothing else so far. Been TTC for 3 years this month.
I found it very painful, I nearly passed out from the pain when the dye was going in, even though I took paracetamol half hour before. Make sure you have someone to drive you home too.
I’ve seen a lot of people saying it didn’t hurt, I guess I was just unlucky. Hope it doesn’t hurt for you and that it helps xx

Definitely something to it. Apparently it helps flush your tubes. I was trying 17 years when I had it done in Nov and conceived Dec. Sadly lost it just after the 2 weeks

Thank you all so much for your responses. Sounds like it's worked well for a lot of you which gives me hope and makes me feel more positive. Really sorry to those of you who have had losses and still ttc. I'll take some paracetamol before and hopefully I won't have too much discomfort. Thanks again, and big congrats to those who conceived since having it ❤️ xx

I had one after trying for a year, it was uncomfortable but didn't hurt. They said my tubes were clear, the next period I got was quite bad, heavy bleeding and I felt nauseous. The next cycle I got pregnant and so think was cause of HyCoSy!

@IskaPiska I had one yesterday and I must admit it hurt more than I was expecting it too during the procedure and I felt uncomfortable but not in pain for about and hour afterwards. I took paracetamol and ibuprofen before but it didn’t seem to help much. Unfortunately they could only confirm one of my tubes was clear and they weren’t sure if the other one was just spasming or blocked.

I hope it all goes well for you tomorrow.

I’m really hoping this might be the thing that helps us so it’s really great to see everyone’s positive stories!

Had it done in early December. Didn’t take any painkillers before or after. Drove myself there and home. I kept the reason I was doing it on my mind and just relaxed. It was over very quickly, felt strange when the dye went it, like a crappy feeling but lasted seconds. My tubes were clear but I did have some discharge afterwards which was strange. Just told myself it obviously worked, also was told it boosted fertility for 3 months after and bang on time in February I got my first ever positive pregnancy test! Just gone 6 weeks. Had been trying for 15 months, might have been a coincidence but we had tried everything else. Sperm tests were fine, my AMH levels were low so I was taking a lot of fertility supplements such as CQ10 (google will tell you the best ones for egg quality). I focused on increasing egg quality as I’m 39 and will be 40 by due date. My consultant said the HyCoSy was another piece of the jigsaw puzzle, it’s going through what you can do. I was heading for IVF next so I’m delighted I’m here

Thanks @Pixiedusted, sorry the painkillers didn't seem to help you. Sounds like some women don't feel much and some find it painful, but overall sounds like the pain/discomfort doesn't last too long so I'll keep telling myself that tomorrow!! That's annoying they couldn't confirm an answer for both your tubes! I didn't realise that was possible, I had in my head the test would show they are either blocked or clear. Do they tell you to come back again for a second test if they can't confirm on the day? I really hope it does the job for you and you get your bfp in the next few months 🤞xx

@Fruitandnuts thank you so much, what a lovely story, delighted for you that you got your bfp and sounds like the hycosy worked wonders for you. Great to hear you didn't find the procedure too awful too! I'll ask the doc if i should expect any discharge. I've just turned 37 so especially love hearing of women late 30s/early 40s managing to conceive naturally. Thanks for the tips on the supplements, I started taking cq10 nearly 2 months ago so hopefully it's helping by now🤞. Best of luck throughout your pregnancy ❤️ xx

@ellellecf21 thanks, great to hear another positive story and congratulations on your bfp too. I need to try not to get my hopes up too much on this working wonders for me, but I really hope it does!! I guess first I need to hear my tubes are actually clear 🙏🙏 haven't really thought about if they're not! So glad it worked well for you ❤️. I'm also taking inofolic alpha, have been for nearly 2 months so hopefully that's starting to help 🤞xx

My tubes were found to be clear. We didn’t get a bfp after having the procedure but I am now 27 weeks pregnant after my first round of ivf 🙂 I am 41, husband is 46, unexplained fertility.

I had the exact same experience. I was in so much pain. I was pouring with sweat and feeling like I was going to faint and throw up. I still have mild pain now. How long did it take for your pain to completely go?
