Hiya, is the darker top ovulation test positive? ( I thought it could seem like a negative) but ever since that test I’ve got more fainted lines (bottom test ) which makes me believe the darker test was actually positive. I’ve had 2 days of the tests which were darker and then now 2 days of Lighter tests (shown in photos) What’s your thoughts please?:)) did I ovulate on the top tests? I’m driving myself mad.

No it’s not a positive as it’s not as dark or darker than the control line. What CD are you? LH does fluctuate a bit throughout your cycle or you could have missed your peak.

When it was darker (the top test) I was CD18 & CD19 and then the fainter test (bottom) was late night CD19 and cD20 xx

@Lucyloox looks like you reached your peak between CD 18/19 then, the top test is almost positive & if you aren't testing multiple times a day it's easy to miss, some people have very short peaks. The only way you can actually confirm ovulation is by temping, but that test looks very close to +. Hope this helpsSmile

I would say no and keep testing.

I used thise one step ovulation tests and IME:

  1. They are NOT progressive. People expect them to get darker and darker then fainter and fainter but they don't. LH spikes over a short period (24-48hrs); it does not gradually increase over the course of a few days. It's suddenly there, then suddenly gone.
  1. A LH spike is unmistakeable. If you are questioning it, it is probably not a spike. All of mine were very clearly much darker than the control line.
  1. My ovulation was always on around day 22/23 of a 32 day cycle. Very late with a short luteal phase. I never would have concieved going by the text book pattern. I have never failed to get pregnant first time when using these testing strips, and have had four pregnancies.

They don't look positive to me at all.
I agree with other if your questioning it then it's likely not positive. The left line should be darker than control. When it's getting closer in colour to test line test twice a day or you can miss it

P.s don't be discouraged and make sure you still have sex as you may just have missed the peak but you currently still be within your window. I'd keep testing this cycle aswell as lh levels can fluctuate and you could have few high readings in the month

Thankyou everyone :) I have experienced some mild cramping for last 2 days now so I’m hoping I’ve not missed it. Xx

@Lucyloox if it's any help your supposed to release the egg 12 - 36 hrs after your positive result . Are you tracking your ovulation sticks using an app?

timetosave · 22/02/2023 09:23

@Lucyloox if you're unsure download the Premom app, you can input your tests & it tells you the strength of the test to see if you're near your peak or not. I can usually tell when ov is coming over a few CDs, so everyone's cycle is different. Have also seen people on this forum questioning their ov test & have indeed ended up ov'ing, everyone's experience can be very different so keep that in mindSmile
