11DPO BFP??? Should I test again tomorrow?

Hi Everyone

So I posted in this group last month as I'd had a VFL from 11DPO to 15DPO that wasn't getting any darker. Unfortunately this ended in a chemical and I got my period a few days later 😔 This was very sad for me and the OH as I also had a MMC in May last year.

I decided to test this morning using a cheapo test because I'd been peeing like crazy in the night (like 5+ times!). You can imagine my surprise when I got a VFL on the cheapo - I thought it must be an indent or the light playing tricks on me !

So I decided to break out my last First Response and, sure enough, it's a nice clear line ❤️

I did a few things different this month. On the advice of my mum (an experienced nurse) I started taking a low dose asprin daily, as well as Agnus castus. This is on top of my daily pregnacare. Me and the OH have also been drinking a lot of pineapple and pomegranate juice, because we've heard this can help? Might be an old wives tale, but you never know?

My question is: Should I continue to test for the next few days to check that the line is getting darker? I'm excited, but obviously I'm also so scared and so uncertain after everything that's happened.

I'm having occasion cramp-like twitches in my groin/pelvic area and it has me very on edge 😅 I called my GP surgery today as they are open until 12 and the receptionist advised that I call back ASAP on Monday to request an emergency telephone appointment.

Wish me luck everyone. Any advice would be appreciated 🤞🤞

If you feel like testing would cause you anxiety, then do not test. If you feel like not testing would cause you more anxiety, then test. I was a prolific tester with all of my pregnancies - I enjoyed testing and it felt right. Others find differently and step away from the tests as soon as they have seen a line on one.

There is no rule book here, you can only go with what feels more comfortable for you.

Congratulations and good luck. It's a nerve wracking time for sure. I feel you 100% on that.

Definitely don’t use IC to check for progression. They take forever to get dark. If you can hold out I’d personally take a clearblue one in a few days. Saying that I took 17 (including my BFP) with my last pregnancy so take what I saw with a pinch of salt.

With both my pregnancies we booked an early scan and told parents after this. 7 weeks with our first and 9 weeks with our second (had to that time as we were at theirs for a boozy birthday weekend 🤣) Fingers crossed for you for a sticky bean!

Also I didn’t get a 3+ (meaning 5 weeks preggo) on a Clearblue weeks indicator until I was 7 weeks. It caused way too much stress so I’d step away from them!

Agree with PP that you should do whatever works best for your state of mind. I'm an obsessed tester (we can only conceive through IVF and I'd test way before the official test day, and twice a day usually!) because it helped me cope. It was a true addiction/obsession but it got me through. I think it helped me handle my chemical pregnancies and miscarriages better because I because to suspect and process the possibility, rather than it being a crushing shock at a scan.

I used to be a FRER fan but have found that Wondfos from Amazon are much better (and cheaper).

Good luck - I hope this is your baby Flowers

*because I began to suspect

Thank you so much! I feel a bit stuck because I feel like I'll be nervous either way at this point haha. I'm naturally a very anxious person, so I'd want to be able to see the line progression for my own peace of mind, but equally I'm scared that a lighter line/no progression might set me off on a panic.

I'm hoping I'll be able to speak with a GP sooner rather than later and get their input on things. In the meantime, I'm just going to try and relax for the rest of the day 😅 Really appreciate the thoughtful response ❤️

Ahhh, that's good to know, thank you! Is that a Clearblue dye or Digital test that you'd recommend? I'm in two minds about whether or not to test again tomorrow, but I'll hold off testing on Monday as I'm hoping I can speak with a GP sooner rather than later to see what they think. I'm really hoping this one sticks 🤞❤️

I understand that completely. I think I've also been testing early most months as a sort of coping mechanism as well. If I don't see anything by about 10/11DPO I start mentally preparing myself for AF and I find that it does help a bit in coping with the disappointment.

I've never heard of Wondfos, so I'll definitely be checking that out, thanks! I dread to think how much money I've spent on tests at this point haha.

Thank you so much, it is greatly appreciated ❤️

If you can test on the same test and manage to do it once daily at the same time you should be ok. Flitting between tests and testing at different times can give highly different results and you can send yourself to though the ringer.

Personally, I like a digital as it’s nice to see it in words. If you’ve got a kind GP you may be able to get a few hcg tests on the NHS to check it’s rising as it should. If not there are tests online you can buy but you need to buy two and do them about 48 hours apart.

Hi roselle345, hope you’re doing good. I wanted to ask you about the asprin. I started taking this after 2 miscarriages and no help from my doctors. Will you continue taking it through your whole pregnancy? Is it 75mg you’re taking? Thanks!

roselle345 · 30/01/2023 11:47

Hi TealDreams, I'm doing well thank you! After the BFP I was referred to my local early pregnancy at my GPs request for some blood tests and early reassurance scans. I was discharged today to self-refer to the midwife so all is looking good. 6wks + 4 days with a strong heartbeat!!

It is 75mg I am taking yes. I will continue to take the baby asprin until my last few weeks of pregnancy, as I understand it can be dangerous from that point onwards. I was advised by a doctor that it won't do any harm even if it isn't helpful in my case, so at worse it's a placebo.

I am also taking 600iu of Vitamin D tablets daily on the guidance of the early pregnancy unit (this is in addition to pregnacare which already has 400iu).

My early pregnancy unit also prescribed me Progesterone pessaries to be taken twice daily until 16 weeks, so I'm pretty drugged up these days haha 🙈 Best of luck with everything! 🤞🤞

Thanks so much! I'm 4+4, I've been referred to epu as I had some bleeding and they'll scan next week. Hoping for a strong heartbeat! Tests are still VERY positive. They've also mentioned progesterone to me so hopefully I will get that too! I'll mention to them then that I took the asprin and see what they say about it. Best of luck to you ✨
