Would you book this holiday?

We're TTC for our first baby and I have PCOS. I am currently taking treatment and have just finished the first (unsuccessful) month. I am currently taking provera to induce a period to start my second cycle of treatment.

We've been invited to go on holiday for a week at the end of Feb, it's a place I'd like to go and haven't been before and the flight is short haul.

I'm unsure whether it's safe to fly? There's no guarantee that I'll be pregnant but of course there's a chance and I would hope to be.

Given that we will hopefully have a baby soon I feel like this could be our last chance for a holiday for a while, but because it's so close it needs to be paid in full and it's not refundable.

Would you go or is it too risky?

What is risky about going on holiday if you are just about pregnant? What is your worry?

Presuming you would know by that time you are pregnant and will avoid alcohol, certain foods etc. flying is perfectly safe up into like 28 weeks.

If you’re not pregnant yet you will be fine to fly end of February. I don’t think you even need a fit to fly letter until 28 weeks (from what I remember when I was pregnant with my daughter).

@daysleepers i was advised not to fly in 1st trimester by two separate doctors, however I had a previous miscarriage (though no reason found for it). I’d book the holiday though if you’ve not had similar medical advice

There's mixed advice online about flying in the first trimester

Book it & go! You can't put your life on hold when ttc.

That's what I'm thinking but at the same time I feel some sort of guilt and I'm not sure why

I think it’s because miscarriage is more common in the first 12 weeks not that it would cause a miscarriage it just wouldn’t be very nice being stuck on a plane if it was happening.

I’m 7 weeks pregnant and I wouldn’t feel like flying would be much fun right now as I feel so so nauseous all of the time and being in the air would make it feel worse and if was sick would be horrible

at the same time as you’re not actually pregnant yet I wouldn’t put my life on hold as it’s not far away at all

Since it’s only next month I would book the holiday. I was abroad when I was 3-6 weeks pregnant and found out about it while I was away.

I flew in the first trimester with both of mine. Why would it even be a thing? I guess maybe if you have morning sickness it wouldn’t be nice and a plane is one of the last places you’d want to be if miscarrying. But I can’t see how it would be risky.
