Hello everyone,

I had my day 21 results back and my progesterone levels were quite high at 45…which I’m happy since it shows that I have ovulated. The doctor said the normal range for day 21 progesterone should be between 5 and 20. She asked me if I could be pregnant which of course is a possibility but I don’t want to get excited and test early. I still have 4 days due for period.

thank fully I do not have any underlying health conditions.

I would like to ask if there is a possibility to have relatively high progesterone and still not be pregnant? I’m too afraid to test early and be disappointed. It’s been tough after my miscarriage several months ago.

I would also like to add that I have zero symptoms

@Mumbrava I think your doctor needs to go back and read the manual if as usual you're talking about 45 nmol/L. Between 30 and 65.5 shows you've ovulated, not between 5 and 20!!

I got a reading of 49 nmol/L and wasn't pregnant.

thank you for this. I honestly don’t understand why the doctor would even raise my hopes. My husband is a gp and he says they normally have notes on the side of the results which indicate the normal range and they base it on that. Surely she won’t just say that from the top of her head?

Do you think there is a possibility she was measuring in ng and not ml

@Mumbrava do you not have the results to hand as it should say to the side as your husband says... In my experience, GPs have very little specific fertility knowledge and I am sure with the many many tests you can have done, she won't have known this off the top of her head. Maybe she didn't realise it was taken on day 21 of your cycle? I think it's unlikely to have been measured using a different unit but you never know! Maybe just wait it out - I know that's gruelling .... but I wouldn't get your hopes up... at least this way you can manage your disappointment.
