I've had other signs of early pregnancy over the past week and have been shocked to get BFN the past 4/5 days!

Got this this morning... is it just my imagination?

I definitely see a line. Do you have any other brands of test to try?

Jenzer01 · 04/01/2023 07:08

Thanks for your quick response! Not at home but I'll get one for 2mo morning!

Is there any point in using another test later today or is it only the tests in the morning that work at the start?

Thanks

Yeah I'd try one later today. But then I'm not a patient person!!

Good luck!! Keep us updated.

Jenzer01 · 04/01/2023 08:53

I'm not patient either. I've already taken 2 more tests. Might get a double pack of the digital one and do one later and keep one for 2mo morning 🤣

@Jenzer01 so this is your first whiff of a bfp, at 14dpo? Incredible how we are all so different. I am certain that is the norm but I can only think of all the ladies who get bfps at 9, even 8dpo. Regarding fmu, i think that's the recommendation but again, ive heard of ladies saying their afternoon urine is stronger. Personally id try again today as I'd be too impatient :D :D what other symptoms did you get? And of course, huge congratulations !

Jenzer01 · 04/01/2023 10:26

Well I'm also shocked!!! This is, as you say, the first whiff of a line!

I have two other children and tested without doubt a few days before 14dpo!

I suffer from PMDD which effectively goes away when you're pregnant so that was the first sign for me.

I also had cervical discharge for the past week which you're not means to have post ovulation unless you're pregnant (it's the mucus plug forming).

I also get terribly constipated when pregnant - so fun! And that is definitely a symptom this week.

And finally, I slept in, yawned all day yesterday and got into bed at 9pm and fell asleep - defo a big sign for me!

Just an update...

I did 2 other strip tests which bits had faint lines.

Got a negative on a digital around 12pm.

Will do another digital in the morning.

My period was due today and it has never been late so 🤞🏻

@Jenzer01 crossing my fingers for you, too ! Do you use FRER at all?

TaMcCro · 04/01/2023 21:38

Hi ladies,

Can I please join? First time TTC here, and would love to find other TTC ladies to talk to :)

@Jenzer01 How exciting! I hope you get a positive on your digital test tomorrow. Look forward to hearing your news.

@NatGee I'm terribly impatient also :- D

Here's our wee story so far...

We've been TTC for 5 months now (I know that's not terribly long). I used the contraceptive implant for 12 years (no periods during that time). I count myself extremely lucky that my periods returned 5 weeks after implant removal, and since then my AF arrives on day 28 every month like clockwork. Phew!

I've had zero pregnancy symptoms thus far...until this month. I'm currently 12 DPO and testing negative. I've been nauseous on and off for one week (just the sensation, no vomiting), with a heightened sense of smell, cramps, bloating, excessive creamy discharge and pinching in my uterus. All new symptoms for me- which is why I'm almost convinced that I'm pregnant!

The cramps are on-going as we speak, but they are massively reduced in comparison to the cramps I normally feel prior to AF. Period is due tomorrow, but I hope to goodness that it doesn't appear!

Jenzer01 · 04/01/2023 21:45

Aw this is so exciting and is exactly my timeline and story of getting pregnant with my first! Will you test tomorrow morning? I have my fingers crossed for you but it sounds good to me!

My bloating is so bad I look around 15 weeks pregnant already!

Jenzer01 · 04/01/2023 21:50

Yes, all my tests (even strips) are 6 days early tests.

Now I've read loads on it because I was certain I was pregnant and getting negatives and this is what I've found:

  • I might have ovulate 2/3 days later than expected (pushing what could have been 8dpo positive to 11dpo.
  • it might have taken embryo longer to implant (can occur 6 -12 days after ovulation) pushing 11dpo to 17dpo.

Also read thatt if you don't get your period, then you can't consider it negative until 17dpo.

All hopeful for me!

You must be so delighted! Have you been TTC for baby number 3 for long?

That's music to my ears that you've had similar symptoms😀I'm trying to not let my imagination run wild, but I'm hopeful. Surely my big bloated belly can't just be Christmas turkey and cheesecake 😅

I used the last of my tests this afternoon. My plan is to see if I can get through tomorrow without AF appearing. If I can get that far, I'll buy another test (or 10!) on Friday.

Jenzer01 · 05/01/2023 06:03

Well I stupidly bought a 50 pack of strips from amazon so can't stop myself from testing 🙈 wish I hadn't now! 🤣

Digital and strip test both negative this morning so definitely confused! Internet says wait 48 hours for hcg to rise but still expected to see more. Back on the fence now until 2mo I guess!

I haven't been TTC for long but as you can probably tell, I'm not the most chilled when TTC 🙈🤣. My first took 5 months but my second happened straight away so I suppose that sets expectations higher for number 3. Wish I could just relax 🙈

Jenzer01 · 06/01/2023 07:55

That definitely isn't your imagination, there is certainly a line there. I'm pretty sure digital tests aren't great for picking up on early pregnancy, so I would try again today with one if you haven't used one since Wednesday.

TaMcCro · 06/01/2023 11:14

There's no denying those lines- they're clear as day! So happy that they are progressing for you. Keep us updated ❤️

Wee update from me- currently 15dpo and still testing negative. I had some cramping yesterday and was 99% sure AF would be here first thing this morning.I think my body is playing a cruel trick on me this month 🙈

Jenzer01 · 06/01/2023 16:24

Oh my fingers are crossed for you @TaMcCro it sounds promising regardless of the negative!

Also hoping the sickness and nausea won't be too much, if any!
