Will be starting TTC approx may/June 2023!
Going on a 3 week honeymoon and will be back at the end of march, so I'm thinking of starting pre-conception vitamins when we get back?
Also will be on the pill until April as conceiving early would cause me to lose 3 months of decent maternity pay so although I know it can take a while to work out of your system, I can't risk it!

Any other tips? I'm probably going to avoid OPKs initially and see how we get on in the first few months.

Would love to hear advice from everyone! There's so much to think about!

How exciting 😁😁 so we had planned to start trying June. April I came off my pill so I could get to know my cycles and I did use OPKs just to get to know how to spot my ovulation signs etc plus the excitement was killing me so it made me feel like I was doing something lol but had to wait until we got married in June. Anyway we fell first try and I'm 29 weeks. I defo suggest getting to know your body and what it's doing 😁 x

I agree to using OPKs so you can understand your cycle, what to do look out for that time, CM etc, some people can also feel ovulation!

From what I understand it can take a few months for your cycle to regulate once you come off the pill - so maybe take a casual approach for a few months but I then recommend OPKs! They really help speed things up 😅x

Hey! I started TTC after my wedding sept 2021 and baby was born august 2022. I tried every trick in the book to conceive quickly and it clearly worked lol. I started using ovulation sticks but quickly gave up as they are a bit tediuous but I used the pregnancy+ app which tells you when you are due to ovulate based on your period. Sorry if TMI but either side of the ovulation due date we did it lots of times like 1-2 times a day every day for 5 days or so. Wasn't sexy in the slightest doing it that much lol but as I said I was so desperate for a baby I wanted to give it a good shot. Also I used concieve plus fertility lube (from Amazon) and I swear this is what helped. Loads of reviews on Amazon say the same. One more thing I came off my pill 3 months early and started taking folic acid as soon as we started trying. Good luck xx

The one thing I would say to my former self is come off the pill way before you intend to actually actively start! Even if it means using barrier protection for a while. My period has only just returned 12 months since coming off the pill and it's been a stressful process, I have spent a lot of time being angry with my former self for taking hormonal contraception for so many years and not having any recollection of what my cycle does naturally!

Soft cup and preseed. Leave in for 12 hours! Took pregnacare. Did all this for one cycle and fell pregnant and worked every time since. Eat chicken/beef bone broth in tww helps with Implantation process x

I came off the pill in October and currently in our first cycle TTC. I too am staying away from OPK's for now as we are giving it a few months of enjoying ourselves and seeing what happens. I can be obsessive with stuff so I know as soon as I start OPK's that will be it. Giving ourselves until Easter time and if it hasn't happened, seeing how we feel and if we wanna change anything, e.g using OPK's etc. so I get you not wanting to initially use OPK's straight away. Do whatever feels best for you both. 😊
