Conceiving with one tube - experiences?

I know this is a fairly rare situation so not expecting much traction. I had surgery to remove an ectopic pregnancy a few days ago, my whole left tube was removed. We fell pregnant on our first cycle TTC. Doctors have said fertility is only reduced by 5-10% so I'm cautiously hopeful.

Those of you who conceived with one tube (for whatever reason), how long did it take? Looking for reassurance 😔

Hello!

So sorry to hear.

I also had my right tube removed due to an ectopic. This was September 2020.

I was told my left tube was clubbed at the end also; so likelihood of conceiving was so low my consultant told me I'd need help.

I fell pregnant naturally December 2020!!

We had booked to start our IVF journey that January 2021 as well.

Also, my right side (tubeless) was the ovary that released my egg! It travelled to my left remaining tube. Amazing.

Good luck xx

I had two kids from one tube after an ectopic. Then had another ectopic and decided to have the remaining tube removed the stress of it all wasn't worth keep it.

The first pregnancy was four months after the ectopic.

I conceived one cycle after an ectopic which resulted in losing one tube. One of the early scans suggested the egg came from the tubeless ovary, but not 100% certain

I had an ectopic and tube removal in June 2012 I was pregnant in august 2012 and my little man will be 10 next year!

Both my (teenaged) kids were conceived after an ectopic resulted in just one tube.
Took 2 months each time.

I had one removed due to a cyst, had two boys with no issues

@hiveoftheskive I'm very worried about another ectopic. My partner and I would like to be OAD (we think) so really just hoping we get one sticky, healthy, correctly placed LO.

@HappyHoppy Thank you for sharing. This is exactly what I wanted to hear! I'm clinging onto the hope that because we conceived first time we're reasonably fertile (and it wasn't just a fluke!).

Hi there, I am so sorry about your ectopic pregnancy. I hope you are recovering well and giving yourself time to heal emotionally as well as physically.

I had an ectopic which resulted in the loss of a tube in 2013. 6 months later, we started our IVF journey from which we were blessed with our first child. We made our peace with one child and decided not to try IVF again and then conceived naturally in 2019. We now have 2 wonderful girls.

I don't think it's as rare as you might think, there was a thread within the last couple of weeks on it. I had an ectopic rupture nov 2011 laparotomy and left tube removed, DS was born 11 months later. I'm not aware of any underlying issues though. Wish you all the best.
