What’s going on 😞

Anyone have any bleeding early pregnancy. My last period was 8th October, I didn’t have a positive ovulation until 10th November. I got my first positive hcg on 25/11. A week later I had bleeding and a few clots. I’ve had scans for the last 3 weeks which hasn’t showed anything although it has showed my lining went from 11mm to 8mm on my last scan.

My hcg levels have been all over the place. 77-56-112-31-34-36-41

They want me to wait until next Wednesday for any more scans or tests but I’m still getting positive hcg tests on strip and digital. My digital went from 1-2 to 2-3 but then went back to 1-2. I haven’t done another one since but I have got one to do tomorrow morning.

We have been trying for 7 years so I’m hoping this isn’t the end tests attached are tonight’s

Any help really appreciated

I’m really sorry. Has nobody discussed the test results with you and what they mean in relation to a viable pregnancy?

DailyEnergyCrisis · 26/12/2022 07:13

So sorry- it’s a really tough place to be. I had a missed miscarriage and followed a similar pattern to your tests.

TTCRainbowbaby23 · 26/12/2022 08:17

Hello

Thank you for your reply

No not really, when they dropped from 112 they said I was having a miscarriage but then as my numbers started to increase again they thought it may have been multiples and one had sadly not made it.
Last week they wanted me to consider taking methotrexate but as my levels increased again the doctors were a little sceptical which is why they have asked to wait until Wednesday to see what's happening.
All my tests I have don't at home are still very positive, I have morning/all day sickness. My breasts are swollen and sore
I just don't know what's happening 😞

Oh I'm so sorry to read this @TTCRainbowbaby23 but the last few numbers are fairly static given it's meant to double every 48 hours. It's such a headfuck though. I had an early miscarriage in March, when I can't have been any more than 5 weeks. When my bloods were taken and the first set was 43 I were told that level was "consistent with miscarriage" (my subsequent set was 27). But I continued having positive tests until about 3 weeks after the miscarriage, which was very frustrating and heartbreaking...

Hi, I'm so sorry for what you've been though. I had this and it is horrendous and tbh a bit of a head fuck! I had a miscarriage back in March when I was supposedly 10 weeks. (Embryo had died a while before though). They saw retained products and I opted for medical management but this clearly failed as I didn't get a negative test and didn't have a proper period so I was hopeful I was pregnant again but I thought deep down there was no chance. I kept going for blood tests as they said it would pass by itself but it didn't. My HCG was going up and down as the retained tissue was producing the hormone. They could see nothing on my scan apart from a thick, irregular womb lining. There was also a corpus luteum on one of my ovaries which they later told me was from the original pregnancy and it was being sustained by the hormones being generated by the tissue! on I was still getting positive tests 3 months after my miscarriage and I felt so down and exhausted and eventually they agreed to give me a hysteroscopy. They found RPOC about the size of a broad bean he said, and he said it never would have come away by itself and it had a healthy blood supply to it. This was invisible on the scan. They removed this and within a month or two my body was back to normal and I was having regular cycles again and negative tests. I was so happy. I really hope that this gets resolved for you soon as it's awful xxxx

Thank you! This sounds exactly like what I'm going through. I still have all the symptoms of being pregnant as I think there is remaining tissue which has not gone.
I go back in on Wednesday. Do you know how I could get them to consider doing this? Was it painful?
Thank you xx

@TTCRainbowbaby23 mine was going on far too long :(
I was in and out of EPU for three months before they decided to give me the op. By that point my mental health was poor and I was so down. My HCG was going up and down, like you, when it increased I would think 'oh perhaps I am pregnant!' And I would get symptoms (these were ongoing for the whole duration) and some days I would be convinced I was pregnant, and other days completely lost and down as I knew I couldn't possibly be.
I wouldn't want you to be in my position, it was horrendous.
No, the hysteroscopy did not hurt at all. You have a general anaesthetic and they use a camera to look. The surgeon told me they were able to see the tissue straight away. I am so glad I had it as he did say it would not have come away by itself.
I would definitely try and push for it sooner rather than later, if you do not get negative soon. It should decrease rapidly once all tissue has gone xxx

Jomummy1013 · 26/12/2022 16:48

They also sent the retained tissue away and confirmed with me it was normal pregnancy tissue and not molar or anything. Xx I wish you the best. Please message me if you want to ask anything else or if you just want someone to talk to, it's not easy x

Thank you

I have had another blood test this morning which has increased to 83

I asked about the procedure and she said that because they don't know if the tissue is Jen my womb they wouldn't consider that as they can't see anything on scans. I think they are keen to do the methotrexate but I'm just nervous for the after affects xx

@TTCRainbowbaby23 do they think ectopic, if they're trying methotrexate? They said that to me, possibly a small ectopic pregnancy but mine turned out not to be. The hysteroscopy was their last resort when they just could not explain why it was happening. X wish you the best xx

They said they can't see anything on the scans to show ectopic but they want to treat it as one xx

Do they think it could be a viable pregnancy, as if really early then you can't see on a scan xx

Well my last period was 8th October. I didn't get a positive ovulation until 10th11th November. My first positive hcg was 25th November. Ever since then digitals have stayed at 1-2 weeks but all other tests have been really strong

Hiya did you bleed much considering it had blood supply to it? X

TTCRainbowbaby23 · 03/01/2024 13:49

Hello
I bled for about 3-4 days initially, it wasn’t ridiculously heavy but heavier than my normal period. Once I had been given the methotrexate I bled for 1-2 days then that was it x

OP posts:
Hipww · 03/01/2024 14:32

did you need. S&P or did it pass naturally x

Passed naturally after the methotrexate. Took 3 weeks for my HCG levels to return to 0 x
