Ivf UK or abroad?

I'm hoping to do private Ivf treatment, doing all the tests in the new year. I've been reading up on here quite a bit and I just wondered for people who decided to go abroad what was the reason? Was it price? Better success rates? And how was your experience?

I'm 42 so time isn't on my side really, and I'm just wondering, if there is a chance we'd try somewhere abroad do we go straight for that, rather than potentially waste time and money doing some of it over here first. It's obviously a worry the travel back and forth but there are no clinics closer than 1.5/2 hours away here either.

Just interested in other people's experiences and reasons for which way they did it etc. If anyone happy to share?

I have the same question. I am new to the whole IVF. Just found out recently that I am not able to conceive naturally. I am turning 39 this year, so I started looking at my options.

Thinking about going abroad, based on my research, is cheaper; however, I am not sure if it is the best idea. What happens if complications arise? How often would I need to travel? All these expenses add to the IVF cost, so it might be worth doing it in the UK.

I live in London and feel that the prices here are insane.

I honestly don't know why you wouldn't go abroad - cheaper, faster and just as good from a medical perspective. But be careful if you're creating embryos with a donor as different rules may apply and you may not be able to move them from country to country.
