Hi everyone. I'm 42 and trying for my second child. Had a chemical pregnancy 2 months ago. Other than that, nothing for the last 6 months. I just realised last night that my AMH has gone from above average 2 years ago (before baba 1) to shockingly low now. Am debating DHEA, Impryl, natural IVF and PRP. Has anyone tried any of these and if so, how did you do it, what would you recommend and any clinics you'd recommend abroad? Am in Ireland but would go abroad with good recommendations. Thanks.

Suggest you work on your nutrition before you try treatment.

we had Ivf to have our second and despite my low-ish AMH levels the eggs I produced were great quality and had a very high 5 day embryo rate.

our doctors thought it was surprising I’m confident it was nutrition.

read It Starts With An Egg

i didn’t do everything there but some of it. High quality vitamins, fish oil tablets, organic bone stock (I made my own) everyday. Smoothies with collagen. Low sugar diet: no refined sugars at all. Low / no processed carbs (the sugar highs / lows mess with your hormones) endless endless leafy greens.

did you breast feed your first? Eggs are developed in a process that takes several months and draws on your bone marrow. Breast milk similar. So you have to replinsih that.

Chicken bone stock everyday and I forced down beef bone stock around once a week or in a stew if I couldn’t face drinking it.

smoothies with nuts, hemp, red berries, and collagen supplement.

little to no alcohol. good quality organic meat and fish (not a time to be vegetarian)

Occasional square of dark chocolate was my regular treat.

third round of IVF worked.

good luck!

I'm very wary of diets as a route to conception. It is the illusion of control over a medical condition. The flip side of 'control' is 'blame' - i.e. you didn't get pregnant because you didn't stick to the diet strictly enough, etc.

Have you looked into the success rates for IVF age 42+? Sorry to be negative OP, but do think about whether it's worth putting yourself through it when the chances are so low (unless you're willing to use donor eggs).

Thank you.

We used egg donor at IVF Spain Alicante.

This was due to an egg quality issue - plenty of eggs, lots fertilised, but none surviving past Day 3.

Three failed attempts in UK using own eggs (all with the same problem). It worked first time in Spain with a donor.

I'd be interested to hear from anyone about the PRP + IVF route.
