Ovulation Test advice for beginner

Hi everyone,

Just started AF on my 2nd cycle properly TTC. Absolutely gutted yet again.
I came off the pill in June and my cycles have been 25, 30, 31, 27, 28 days. We pretended we were being careful the first few months but weren't really. Actively started in September using my Flo app but obviously something isn't working yet.

I started conceive plus vitamins last month and will continue to take them as they seemed to have helped my dryness (down there) which started as soon as I stopped my BC pill and have been trying to use the conceive plus lubricant.

I wondered if I should be checking to see if I am actually ovulating as we have been dtd at least every other day for two cycles now. I had a lot of issues with my BC pill last year and worry that something may be wrong internally despite having clear scans and blood tests results. This was the main reason I came off the pill in June rather than September as planned.

Does anyone have any advice on ovulation tests? Are they worth it? how do you best use them?

I'm so clueless so any help is appreciated

Yes they are worth it, although they don't confirm ovulation but they give you a good indication. Buy a big pack off Amazon and use them everyday as soon as your period stops. You'll think the peak will never come and then it just does...when you think you're close to the middle of your cycle test in the morning and afternoon/evening so you don't miss it.

Apps etc are only as good as the data you put in, your Flo app will only be giving you generic windows.

@DaisyChain16 thank you so much, are all brands the same or are some better than others?

I use ClearBlue. I found them better as it takes out the guess work. It is the purple ones

Cheap ones from Amazon are just fine -if you download the Premom app you can take pictures of the tests and it will give you an idea of your LH level.
These are the ones I used:

I wouldn't waste your money on clear blue - very expensive especially if you need to do it for a few months and I preferred to see the lines developing myself.

Amazing thank you!

I also used the cheap ones along side the the premom app.

Using a bbt thermometer was actually the most insightful way of pinpointing ovulation and getting to know a cycle.

May l ask which bbt thermometer did you use please

I more want to check that I am actually ovulating, me and DH do enough BDing that we should cover late or early ovulation.
I guess I am just wary due to all of the issues I had last year where they were testing me for early menopause etc.
I'm only 31 but had a lot of issues which seemed like I was either menopausal or my birth control pill had suddenly decided to hate me. Having come off the pill I feel a thousand times better but still concerned as to why almost overnight my pill turned me into an angry, sore boobed, dry, emotional mess

@BritishDesiGirl I used a babymad one from Amazon. I used the premom app to graph it.

@Beepops22 bbt was still much more helpful in identifying ovulation has or hasn't happened. Ovulation tests are difficult to read and you have to do it's several times a day in my personal opinion and I'd wish I'd done the bbt much sooner. But each to there own I guess!
