We are TTC 1st. I have multiple health problems which are likely to cause issues getting pregnant (prolactinoma, endometriosis, PCOS) . Will my GP look at fertility testing etc despite the fact we have only been trying for 4/5 months?

How old are you? No harm in going sooner given your medical history but you may not get a referral. Good luck.

IntrovertedPenguin · 08/11/2022 16:20

They don't usually refer until 12 months of trying.

Yes - I'm a GP - I start looking at testing at one year for someone aged 35 or under, and 6 months if they are over 35 or have a condition which is likely to impact fertility, PCOS and endometriosis fit that category. So I'd go soon ie when you've been TTC for 6m.

it's age and medical history dependent

But you’ve been trying for nearly a year, right? 😉
