Hey lovely ladies!

To start this thread, I’ll give you a little background.
My DH and I have opted to give the home insemination method a try due to a few different reasons.
We tried a year or so ago for about 4 cycles, to no avail and haven’t really tried again until this cycle.

I am currently on CD 22 and 8DPO according to the Flo app. I have been tracking my cycle for years, and I am regular (almost like clockwork) which I feel rather positive about considering I am a plus size woman.

I guess I’m just here to see if there is anyone in a similar position and maybe start a thread on tips and tricks.

…. So I’m CD28 / 13DPO and AF was predicted to start yesterday but hasn’t. Done a test and a BFN for me.
Not sure if taking “conception” vitamins have maybe affected my cycle slightly this month? So while I’m a bit disheartened, it’s only the first month…
AF still hasn’t arrived, but I’m pretty sure I’m out. What do you guys think?

Hi op have you been tracking ovulation with test strips that you dip in wee?

When I started using those I learnt that I ovulate much earlier than an app would suggest around CD 10 but as early as CD 8. If I hadn’t of used the test strips I wouldn’t have known and it could have taken us much longer to TTC as we would have DTD too late.

thanks for replying!
no, I haven’t tracked my ovulation yet… I’m worried that I wouldn’t be able to be consistent with it. I work all sorts of hours so I’m never consistently at home around the same times.
would that matter?
my DH said the same to me, he thinks that I possibly ovulate earlier too…!

You could always take a ovulation strip and a small cup to work with you and do it at work/take your handbag with you to the loo when its quiet. The LH surge doesn't necessarily happen at the same time of day, some people test twice a day (I occasionally did and sometimes the line was stronger at the second test or vice versa). I don't think timing matters for those. I also took my temperature daily (doesn't help predict ovulation but it reassured me that I was/it shows that ovulation occurred). There's a good book by Toni Weschler called Taking Charge of your Fertility if your local library has it, it's worth a read. I used an app to record my temps and it could also scan the ovulation predictor strip to say whether it felt that your hormone levels were high or not if you weren't sure. Good luck x

Consistent timings don’t matter, I think I used the easy at home ovulation sticks that comes with an app. It lets you plot a graph of the LH levels which allows you to pinpoint ovulation

I’ve had two babies turkey-baster style - it works ☺️

@thejadefish I might have to take a look at that book! There’s never a quiet time at work unfortunately 😂 but I could give it a try!

@PinkPlantCase i definitely think I’m going to track ovulation the best I can this month… just waiting on AF to come along now!!

@Golaz great to hear of your success! Congrats! Have you any tips?
