Hi,
Wondered if anyone had any similar experiences to share or advice please :)
I’m 31 and currently on NHS waiting list for a consultation with a gynaecologist who recommended a laparoscopy for endometriosis last year but told be to TTC for 6 months first and then come back to her. I’ve also had irregular, heavy, excruciatingly painful periods with lots of spotting.

Been TTC 7 months so far (I know very early in comparison to a lot of other’s stories and journeys) and had blood tests and ultra sound scan which found reversed LH and FSH hormone (which can be sign of PCOS doctor said?) and one cyst on my ovary (which they said could be normal part of cycle cyst). I did the day 21 hormone test and started period 7 days after I was tested, they found very low progesterone which can be a sign I don’t ovulate. Docs say they want to focus on endometriosis first before looking further into my hormones or potential PCOS…. But I’m not sure, should surgery be the first port of call? I guess these are all questions for my gynaecologist but can’t stop over thinking it all and wondered if anyone had similar experiences or advice?

Hi @CAA121
So sorry to hear you're going through this. I've had a variety of issues over the years with heavy, irregular, long periods and no ovulation cycle after cycle.
I had thickened lining which was causing my bleeding, so had a Hysteroscopy which reduced the thickness.
After this and 18 months of trying I started taking vitamin B6 and within one month I finally ovulated (first time in those 18 months) and I actually fell pregnant! DD is now 2yo!
Maybe worth giving B6 a try? I get mine from Amazon.

Hi Op
I had similar when trying to conceive. History of long irregular cycles and severe pain.
was diagnosed pcos at the start of my TTC journey, tried ovulation induction but it didn’t work.
eventually fell pregnant after three years trying age 30 and had a second very soon after. Later had two serious miscarriages before dc3.

Diagnosed severe stage 4 endo and adenomyosis when dc3 was 2.
My top tip would be that endo can make you feel absolutely crap when you’re ovulating. So you think you’re done with TTC for that month but you haven’t actually ovulated yet so miss it. I had to track ovulation with temperatures to realise this that I was ovulationg later than I had thought and then I was able to fall pregnant much quicker. Surgery can help too - excision surgery to remove the endometriosis.
I conceived dc1 on something like day 64 of my cycle.
Best of luck

Wonderful to hear your story ends happily with your DD. Just wanting to check, vitamin b6 on its own? Thanks for the tip I’ll go buy some in any hope it works :)

Hi @Namechange600
Sorry to hear about the long journey you’ve been on with both PCOS and endometriosis but is lovely to hear you have 3 DC. Hope you don’t mind me asking, how did they diagnose PCOS? Did you have multiple blood tests to diagnose?
Also I have been tracking my ovulation with sticks and have seen the LH surge but blood tests show I have increased LH anyway and have been told it doesn’t mean I ovulated as I have low progesterone, so I’m very lost with ovulation tracking now 😅 did you get LH surges still?
thanks for your advice

Yes I had a ultrasound scan and blood test to diagnose, they took symptoms into account too. (Absent periods, quite hairy, apple shaped although not overweight). It was a long time ago now. Think my testosterone was 3 x normal :(
i never managed to record any LH surges as my cycles were so nuts. I didn’t have the patience. :(
