@MillieKitty still lots of time for progression then! Good luck!

emevol · 11/10/2022 10:03

Im currently in talks via email with my GP to see if I can get any checks / help.
Having TTC for 2 years, loosing a considerable amount of weight doesn't seem to have helped either.
I have really heavy painful periods with lots of clotting so I think there may be some issues somewhere.

I don't know how much more I can cope with 💔

Peeonastick22 · 11/10/2022 10:17

Don’t lose hope @emevol

Did you say it was your first month TTC since both you and your partner have lost weight?

It’s great that you’re having a conversation with your GP. If there is an issue they will pick it up.

I know it sometimes feels impossible to stay positive but you have to try

You’re a newlywed! Try and enjoy that and think of this as your first month TTC instead of looking back at the two years before you got married.

I assume it will take your body time to level out and for your hormones to settle after losing so much weight, give yourself time

sending hugs and hope x

emevol · 11/10/2022 10:20

@Peeonastick22 thank you! I'm usually so upbeat and positive but finding this so hard at the moment.

Yes, first month TTC since the weight loss. I wonder if my hormones are perhaps all over the place. I was reading today if you have heavy painful, clot-heavy periods it is almost always a hormone imbalance so I'm wondering if that's the issue I've had all along.

I find myself questioning absolutely everything now.. like do I even ovulate?! I have no idea.

DH hasn't had any tests whatsoever either so it could be something his side. Arghhh

MillieKitty · 11/10/2022 11:01

@emevol sorry to hear you're feeling low, I also have heavy painful periods so I know the worry of thinking something is wrong, it's good you're contacting the GP, push for some tests and let us know how you get on x

Congratulations to the bfps! How exciting! I am also out if that makes anyone feel better, when I thought I had symptoms, AF arrived today early. I’m ok, only cycle 2 here but I can imagine it’s so hard to stay calm at times when trying for a long time. Sometimes you just need to feel the sore feels, it is shit :(

HJA87 · 11/10/2022 12:12

@emevol sorry you’re feeling like this. It’s good to get things checked out. I’ve heard lots of stories of people doing fertility tests and then falling pregnant while waiting for the results. I think knowing you’re taking some steps to help the process allows you to relax and then it happens. My tests are progressing very slowly so I may well be joining the next thread, we shall see! I’ve had some blood tests done yesterday to see if they can give me anything to help this bean stick but it costs me so much I feel sick! The GP a worn refer me until I’ve had 3 losses.

HJA87 · 11/10/2022 12:12

That should have said: GP won’t refer me

HJA87 · 11/10/2022 12:29

Congrats @MillieKitty !!!

Whilst I know that you mean well, the whole idea that 'just relaxing' can get you pregnant heaps blame on people with infertility. It's quite a cruel thing to suggest that all we have to do is relax. I, for example, have already beaten myself up enough about the fact that I can't get pregnant again. Hearing that other people believe it's my fault because I'm not relaxed enough just makes it worse.

My husband has low sperm motility. Relaxing cannot fix low sperm motility nor can it cure endometriosis or PCOS or unblock fallopian tubes.

Just something to think about :)

Peeonastick22 · 11/10/2022 13:14

@emevol you’ve taken the first step to start looking into your fertility, that’s a step in the right direction!

I have had a chat with my partner about him getting his checked as same as yours- he’s never looked into it

I feel your pain when it comes to issues with hormone balances- mine are whack and I also have very clotty periods and more recently loads of mid cycle spotting. After having a scan and them saying ‘everything looks normal’ I’m not sure what else to do!

Hopefully your GP is helpful and you can get some sort of insight!

emevol · 11/10/2022 13:23

I had some awfully intrusive internal scans back in 2021, where they signed of me as completely normal. So trying to push to be seen for further checks now as I really don't think I am as normal as they assume 😂😂

HJA87 · 11/10/2022 13:48

@TheBirdintheCave sorry I didn’t mean to be insensitive! I had an appointment with a consultant yesterday and this is what she told me (that usually people fall pregnant successfully not long after seeing me) so I was just repeating what she said as it was fresh in my head. But you are right of course, relaxing alone won’t fix any underlying issues! It’s only if there are no other issues then maybe it helps. But I know how difficult it is to relax, I know that I’m not someone who is relaxed while TTC, I become very obsessive!

HJA87 · 11/10/2022 13:51

This YouTube channel is great. They struggled to get pregnant for 2 years and had lots of tests done before finally falling pregnant with twins. It’s really informative. In their case there was an issue with the partner.

Here’s a link to the first episode of their TTC journey.

Wrenegade · 11/10/2022 14:42

Congratulations everyone that has their bfp!

I think I’m out for this cycle, no AF yet (due today) but lots of cramping and a bfn 12dpo. I’m very up for another cycle, I think I may be around for a while as I was told my fertility is quite low after my endometriosis diagnosis. I do get hope by seeing other people on these threads having success stories.

Yeah I think a lot of the pregnancy surprises are due to some of the tests you undergo in the build up to accessing fertility treatment. Some of them can actually help fertility :) I had a HyCoSy (where they squirt dye into your tubes) when we were on the IVF road and was pregnant two months following it after fifteen months of nothing.

jmase · 12/10/2022 06:31

Well due my AF today and still testing negative 😩god this is torture. Iv had cramps but I don't feel like I'm going to start like I normally do.

TheVikingGirl · 12/10/2022 07:39

Thank you @jmase feeling so down this thread is helping lots xx

@emevol Zita West is someone to look up for guidance my friend told me about her I’m going to check out her YouTubes/podcasts.

@justbelieve Congratulations lovely 😊

wishing lots more BFPs for everyone xx

justsayso · 12/10/2022 07:44

Sadly my BFP from Sunday morning hasn't held, and my test this morning is much lighter, I'm so upset but trying to hold it together. It must be a chemical. Top on is Sunday 9th and bottom is today. So that's a MMC and now a CP, fantastic.

Peeonastick22 · 12/10/2022 08:16

@justsayso Is this justbelieve?

I’m so sorry, can’t imagine what you’re feeling

sending hugs

Peeonastick22 · 12/10/2022 08:19

@justsayso sorry got confused and thought someone had changed their name

really hope you’re ok and wishing you the best of luck for next month

MillieKitty · 12/10/2022 08:20

@justsayso so sorry 😞 I hope you are okay

Well I had a bfn this morning after a faint line yesterday so I'm counting myself out now, AF due Saturday so no more testing for me unless I am late x
