Recurrent chemical pregnancies

Just going through my second chemical pregnancy in 3 months and struggling to find answers. GP won’t refer me til I have another, so hoping it’s not the case but I find this very cruel, and EPU simply told me not to try again until I can mentally handle another loss. Again, not helpful.

Has anyone been in the same situation and gone on to have a healthy pregnancy? I already have a child so I know my body is capable but it’s forgotten how to cook a baby :( i want to start progesterone but can’t get it from my GP and I’ve read aspirin helps? I’m at rock bottom and feel so utterly useless. Could it be anything with my OH or is it almost certainly my body?

thanks for reading.

I don’t know about testing but I thought the new guidelines were that you didn’t need to wait for three loses to start progesterone? I only read that here though so I might have that wrong, hopefully someone who knows will be around to confirm, or you could research it.

@GreyTCat my gp said it has to come from secondary care and only once a viable pregnancy is seen on a scan - so not helpful unfortunately

Are you getting clear second lines on your tests or are they faint as there are some terrible tests out there at the moment which give out false positives alot , sorry had to ask x

Clear lines confirmed with bloods.

I had 8 chemicals plus 2 miscarriages ttc 37-39. Now doing IVF. Looks like issue for us is poor egg quality plus immune system/natural Killer cells.

@bubble55 I'm really sorry you're going through this, I had my first CP last month and it's devastating. Like you I already have a child and now I feel like my body is failing me! Before we started trying again I thought to myself in 26 it'll be easy like it was first time round but sometimes things change. It's tough for you mentally but hug your little one that bit tighter and never forget that you have them to keep you strong through this sad time 🥰

My issue is that everyone around me is announcing their pregnancy's and now I'm struggling to me happy for them!!

a private clinic would say the same about the scan just to make sure they are sustaining a viable pregnancy.

if you can afford it, book in to a private fertility clinic. I went about a week after a positive test and got my progesterone prescription and the ok to take baby aspirin (helps with blood flow) after a little sac was seen on the scan. It was about £350 for my consultation, scan and prescription.

I had a chemical in March, didn’t try again in April, tried in May and had a second chemical. So two consecutive ones.

I was really worried there was an underlying issue but I’m currently nine weeks pregnant. Early days still but at least this hasn’t been another chemical.

Hope it works out for you. Push your GP for blood tests if you can, quick initial way to see if there are any issues that could be sorted.
