Do conception vitamins help…??

I’ve already got one DC, took us a while to conceive but nothing outside the ordinary, 5 months I think. I did have a miscarriage before we got pregnant. We’ve been trying since the beginning of the year for DC 2 but nothing…
Last time DH and I both took conception vitamins but this time he’s taking some different ones and I’m so busy I keep forgetting to take anything. Do I need to make more of an effort? Do they work? What else can I do to help maximise our chances? I can’t imagine we have any real problems because we have managed to have one child so do we need to just be really regimented about ovu tests, temps etc?
I think I hoped it would happen naturally because it did last time (we got pregnant the month we took a break from being regimented about everything!) but maybe we need some help.

You should take folic acid but that is for when you do get pregnant - it helps fetal development.

Vitamin d deficiency can cause or contribute to infertility so if your deficiency in that it could be causing comications
. No harm taking the vitamins

Folate is very important and like others have said, low vitamin D does cause problems conceiving. Same goes for iron. I suppose it applies to all vitamins, if you're deficient yourself then conceiving can be more difficult.
Read wonders about Coq10 in improving egg viability, unsure what your age is, but if you're older then it may help. Good luck to you

They've not helped me... but no harm in taking them I guess!

Could it be a hormonal thing, do you think? I’ve not long stopped breastfeeding DC1 and while the midwife did say it isn’t a method of contraception, does it maybe have an effect on fertility?

Isn't up to 12 months TTC deemed within the bounds of "normal"? I'd try not to stress too much about it OP if you've only been trying since January?

Breastfeeding 100% has an impact on fertility. It's not a RELIABLE contraceptive but it is a contraceptive for many women!

Do you know how long the effects laat, @IWillBeWaxingAnOwl ? DC was fully weaned in April but my boobs are still huge so I’m assuming my body is extra slow at stopping lactating…
