Hello! We've been TTC our second for over a year - DS is nearly 5, I'm 36. I've had two miscarriages and two chem pregnancies this year. My partner and I been referred by my GP to the king's fertility clinic. I wonder if anyone else struggling with secondary infertility has been referred to kings. I'm wondering what tests / scans they'll do and also what treatment they'll fund..I know they won't fund IVF as we already have DS but will they fund anything at all - eg medication / follow ups (if relevant and needed after investigations).

Thanks in advance to anyone who might be able to shed some light.

I was wondering the same thing as we're in a similar position. Did the NHS fund any tests etc for you in the end?

Hi! So we had sperm analysis, AMH test and internal scan for free. The results showed everything was 'ok' which was in some ways reassuring but in others frustrating as I was kind of hoping to find an issue to fix after what feels like a very bumpy attempt at TTC #2. What that means is there's no treatment they offered us so I'm not sure what we could be offered for free. The Dr did say he thought IVF might work well for us, but that would be charged for at over £3k a cycle.
What is your situation?

My husband had low sperm motility which was discovered by investigations when we were trying for our first baby. We were put on the NHS IVF route and had all kinds of tests. Then, the day before we were due to start round one, we found out I was pregnant.

Our son is now nearly two and we're ten months into trying again. We're thinking about IVF if it hasn't worked by February. We had a MMC in April at nine weeks which was just crushing.

Thanks for the info! I hope everything comes together for you soon :D

I had an emergency c-section in 2020. After pushing for a hysteroscope, and a 9 month wait, i found out that I had extensive scarring (adhesions) that around the entrance of my fallopian tubes. I was referred for hysteroscopic adhesiolysis (surgery), which was only partially successful. I've now been told that the only way I'll be able to have another child is through trying IVF. Now looking at different IVF providers in London- as this is a second child we will not be eligible for any NHS funded treatment.
Interested to know about experiences with IVF clinics, particularly dealing with complex cases (I'm also 38). I had my tests at King's but after looking at reviews and the HFEA live birth dares for IVF patients, I'm not convinced that it's the best place. Would be keen to hear reviews if you went ahead with IVF at Kings and if not, any recommendations.

Hi @Jlojlo , I'm also going through secondary infertility and had a previous C-section. Just wondering if you ended up going with Kings or elsewhere?
