@MrsJGrealish haha no I have a c section booked for Thursday morning! Very excited! Just been having a little look on here and wondered how you are! How have things been?

MrsJGrealish · 18/07/2023 18:08

@Hjudge56 ahh soo exciting!! Get all your MN time in now. Well I'm still here plodding along. I wouldn't say I'm too disappointed to still be here, we'll have a full house again soon (DS moving back home after student life) and we are getting a new kitchen soon which he will no doubt trash 🙄 kinda thinking where would I put a baby now..wait til you see this will be the month it works 😂 good luck for Thursday lovely 🥰

MrsJGrealish · 18/07/2023 18:45

@Hjudge56 I'm on Facebook groups, WhatsApp chats and mumsnet threads for ttc 😂😂 I feel like it's taken over slightly 🤣

Would love to see a wee pic of baby!! Girl? Did I guess right? Xx

MamaSJ15 · 18/07/2023 21:55

@Hjudge56 hey!! I haven't actually been on here for ages! We had our little boy a week ago ❤️ had an elective c section after the first traumatic birth and it was so much better! How are you doing?

Hjudge56 · 18/07/2023 22:11

@MrsJGrealish sounds like you’ve got lots going on! Haha yes that’s usually the way it works.. when the timing isn’t quite right!

@MamaSJ15 huge congratulations! How has your recovery been? I have my elective c section this Thursday! Very excited but also nervous about recovery

MamaSJ15 · 18/07/2023 22:21

@Hjudge56 thank you! There have been a couple of things I wasn't expecting if I'm honest, trapped wind in the shoulder is apparently very common and bloody painful! But it didn't last too long thankfully and the other is boob pain (I'm not breastfeeding), this has been excruciating, but is easing off now. I had my dressing removed today so I feel a bit tender but overall not too bad. It's day 7 today and I went out for a walk for the first time yesterday and again today 😊 the whole elective section experience was amazing, not gonna lie. It was so relaxed and calm. I really hope yours goes as well as mine did!

Kitty901 · 02/08/2023 10:28

Hi ladies, i have decided to log on and see how’s everybody doing! My girl is 5 months old now and has two tooth already! I can’t believe how time is flying 😢 i am happy she is here and also sad as this is our second and last baby and would never go through ttc and pregnancy excitement again.

@Hjudge56 good luck for Thursday, how exciting! I had an elective ceserean due to a previous emergency ceserean. It will all be alright! Xx

Hjudge56 · 02/08/2023 11:01

@Kitty901 i had it 2 weeks ago!! Little girl is here and the experience was great :)

so glad to hear your little girl is doing well! God where has that time gone!

monsteramunch · 02/08/2023 11:45

Ooh @Kitty901 and @Hjudge56 I'm having an elective in October and really looking forward to the experience but feeling a little nervous about the recovery now I'm only 10 weeks away!

If you have any 'I wish someone had told me that...' or must haves for recovery then I would be ever so grateful for your advice.

So pleased to hear that your little ones are safely here Flowers

Kitty901 · 02/08/2023 20:06

@monsteramunch my only advice is not to eat after the operation even if they tell you you can eat as normal as i have done that and was in so much pain after! Stick to soups for a while x

@Hjudge56 congrats! Silly me i havent looked at the dates 😀 i wish you a speed recovery and take it easy please! My scar started opening at week 6, got infected and went on antibiotics and had the dressing put back on

Hjudge56 · 02/08/2023 20:47

@monsteramunch I’ve just seen @Kitty901 RE eating afterwards- I personally ate a big Burger King after and ate very normally after and was fine so perhaps that’s a personal effect! I did get trapped wind in my shoulder which is very common, just good to keep on top of paracetamol and ibuprofen! I think the biggest piece of advice is to really rest up after and let yourself heal. A week post section I felt pretty normal but kept trying to do more than I can which put me back in my place! I got myself a big comfy recliner armchair which has been great for me!
