Progesterone cream/recurrent miscarriages/BFP

Hi so over the last 18 months I’ve had three miscarriages (two natural before six weeks and one blighted ovum which I had surgical management at 8 weeks). While waiting for my appointment at the recurrent miscarriage clinic I had read online about using progesterone cream in the TWW so gave it a try this month thinking my appointment was months away. Yesterday I found out my appointment is next week and I also got an early BFP (still faint at 10DPO but def there). I’m still going to take the appointment as I know how hard they are to get and ask advice but feel a bit embarrassed about self medicating myself with progesterone cream!
has anyone else used progesterone cream? Assume I just keep applying it now until 12 weeks? Or maybe the consultant will prescribe progrestrone pessaries?
Sorry for long post my mind is just a bit all over the place!!

Hi op. I would say to just attend the appointment, and given your mc histories prolly best to ask if they are concerned with prescribing progesterone to support your early pregnancy. Smile

And i am actually meant@curious to ask, how did u apply the progesterone cream in your tww? You started right at 1 dpo? Planning to aid myself with this alternative too, been trying for almost 3 yrs.. 1 missed miscarriage at 10wks last year and didnt seem to hv luck till today.

Hi @ttcmom thanks, yeah im
hoping they will be able to help in some way , takes months to get these appointments I don’t want to miss my chance but naturally just scared it will be another loss and then will be back at the bottom of the wait list!
Anyway I did ovulation tests so I was certain when I ovulated and then at 2 DPO just applied a bit each night. 10 DPO I then did a pregnancy test as if was negative would need to stop applying as not to mess up period coming. This is just what I read online but like you I just got a bit desperate to try something different x

I have had 3 pregnancy losses in the last 2 years - 2 MC and one Ectopic which resulted in my tube being removed at 4 weeks. Fell pregnant in May of this year.

Had a recurrent MC appointment after my 3rd loss and was told to take asprin 150mg every day (just before bed) from BFP and my GP prescribed progesterone pessaries. I turn 19 weeks tomorrow with a little baby boy.

Congratulations on your BFP and good luck with your appointment. I would even consider ringing your GP as they may be able to prescribe the progesterone pessaries asap.

If your NHS doctor doesn’t prescribe, could you possibly see one privately?
NHS didn’t prescribe me progesterone, while the private one did. She suggested it’s important to take it.
