Long cycles/late ovulation/luteal phase/worried

Hi,
just wondering if anyone can offer any help,
since coming off the implant in August last year my cycles have been quite long but from 33days at shortest to 39 days at longest so I do have some kind of pattern.
im worried as from tracking I’m always ovulating between CD20-29 dependant on cycle length and I keep reading this is just too late. I’m fairly confident I am ovulating through charting BBT and EWCM.
my next worry is my luteal phase is then only 10/11 days. I have read lots of conflicting things that 10+ is normal but I feel like I’m just on the cusp on normal and with ovulating so late I feel something is really wrong.
I have had a recent pelvic scan and everything was normal but not been trying long enough yet to go for bloods ect. I suffer with anxiety and I feel like it’s just through the roof.

has anyone else conceived with cycles similar or taken supplements to help regulate things a bit more?

any advice is appreciated but please be kind

thank you 🙏

@BabybttcNo1 Hey I am not able to help from first hand experience I'm afraid. Anything I can suggest comes from what I am doing myself. I am pretty certain that because of the toxic environment we live in, we are all hormonally deregulated to varying degrees. To help with that, I do seed cycling, eat clean, exercise, take plenty of sun, high dose of Vitamin C and prenatal supplements. No medication and decided not to go for IVF if it comes to that, but thats my personal choice

I've never read that late ovulation is an issue? as long as it is happening I don't see why that would be a problem? The concerning part is the luteal phase where I've seen that it does need to be around 14 days to support a pregnancy

When our first attempt didn't work out, I booked my OH for a seminogram and I went for an AMH, bought all the strips I could find (FSH, LH, pdg), tested for STDs (wanting to rule chlamydia out) and began tracking properly because, like you, I am a very anxious person. For your peace of mind, I wouldn't wait around, if you can go and do these things yourself, do. We went to private clinics and must have spent shy of £500 getting these done but gave me a peace of mind all was OK

Not sure what else to suggest. I am sorry I am not more helpful. Good luck and baby dust, keep us in the loop xx

@BabybttcNo1 I don’t have the same experience but wanted to mention that after two MCs last year my cycles got a bit wonky in terms of length/ovulation dates - I was very regular before - and I had some acupuncture to try and help that (and the anxiety I was feeling). It seemed to help - this isn’t a scientific statement of course as I might have gotten better on my own - but I noticed my cycles and ovulation dates got regular again and I had less period pain post acupuncture. There is some research suggesting it helps. On a different note, my literal phase is 11-12 days so not much longer, I had a chemical and a 6w MC since starting to TTC but 11.5 weeks now and all is fine so far, LO looking good. Best of luck to you x

I've also been doing acupuncture and just had bloods done. I'm not too sure about long cycles but I have heard mid cycle ovulation is optimal. My bloods cost about £100 through medichecks - was well worth it for reassurance. Not sure how old you are but i'm 40 and TTC no. 2 and my bloods still show all is ok.

I am a firm believer that stress is a MAJOR contributor so would really recommend anything you can do to manage that - yoga, exercise, finding time for yourself - whatever works for you.

Sending best.

@jalu47 I second that. Apparently our bodies will prioritise cortisone over sex hormones so yeah, stress managemet is of utmost importance Good luck xx

Thank you all for your responses. Before actively trying my cycles were longer like 33-35 days but it’s since I’ve got it in my head we’re trying that they are going upwards each month. I really think I am over thinking things and should just let nature take it’s course but I’m just finding it hard to know where I am at but then doing OPKs added a new level of stress altogether. I need to calm down a bit I think!

Hi
Thanks for your post. I'm in a similar position and starting to get concerned as my L phase seems has only been 7, 8, or 11 days across the last few cycles. Only been TTC for 4 cycles now but struggling to see how it could happen when my LP is so short. GP has just told me not to worry but starting to consider seeking advice privately.
How are you getting on now?

BabybttcNo1 · 19/09/2022 10:55

Hi, I found out I was pregnant two weeks ago, likely ovulation CD40 And my luteal phase has never been longer than 10 days.
