Trying to conceive after stopping Cerazette

Hello everyone

I've recently found this site after doing some research online and thought I'd post to ask if anyone has any experience with conceiving after coming off Cerazette?

I stopped taking the pill in February and since then, my cycle has been a bit all over the place, averaging at 23 days - I started bleeding on day 18 this time. It was very light, closer to spotting really and lasted about 6 days. I haven't been able to really narrow down my ovulation dates, I think because my cycle has been so erratic and so I was wondering, or hoping rather, if someone else who had a similar experience could offer any insight or advice at all?

I've started taking my bbt this month too to see if that can help me. Some apps I use say I'll ovulate in 2 days, despite all tests being very very low, and others say it'll be 2 weeks away so at a loss really.

TIA xxx

Hi, I stopped taking Cerazette on June 22nd, had what I think was my first period on July 15th, it was so heavy and painful 😭
I started doing OPKs and seem to have ovulated this week. I am a bit strange in that I did also get "periods" whilst on the pill so I'm not sure what that means for me! I'm not holding out any hope that I've been successful this month but I'm just seeing what happens as my hormones do seem to be a bit wild!

Aww wishing you all the best. I maybe had one period every 6 months on cerazette. And even then it was just spotting and lasted only a couple of days - which I loved at the time! Now it's taking a while to regulate, I'm not as happy about it 🤣

I came off Cerazette last year and my cycles were straight back to normal - 28/29 days. I never had any bleeding while on it. It might be worth getting checked out for something like PCOS, or in case something is a bit off with your bloods that might be making them a little erratic. Although my cycles always were and are regular and not heavy/painful and my bloodwork was fine, a pelvic ultrasound revealed I had PCOS and never had a notion! So no harm to get checked out - best of luck!

I came off cerazette at the beginning of august 2018 to ttc. I had a withdrawal bleed straight away then a ‘proper’ period at the end of august. I got a positive test at the end of September 2018. I have stopped taking it this time on the 12th June and I’ve still not had a period. I don’t think there’s any rhyme or reason to it. My cycles have always been like clock work. Fingers crossed you get your bfp soon

I stopped taking Cerazette after just over 11 years non stop in Oct 2021. I didn't bleed at all while taking it, had my withdrawal bleed after 6 weeks of stopping and my cycles average between 25-31 days now (more around the 29 mark). We have been actively TTC since Jan and still waiting for our BFP 😢

It really is different for everyone though, hoping for a BFP soon for you 💕

Thanks all for your kind messages. I was on the pill for over 15 years and it's only now I've really started to think about fertility. I think as well I was starting to worry as I hadn't caught my LH surge yet on testing strips. I switched to the Clear Blue digital tests that claim to show 4 or more fertile days and, according to them I'm in high fertility at the moment, hoping to see the surge this week.

Good luck to you as well. Sending lots of love and best wishes that you see your bfp soon too! xxx

The strips are showing LH levels rising, but I haven't had a strip that says it's my peak. I wasn't really taking it too seriously to start with, so thought I might have just missed the right day. I stopped Cerazette in Feb, it took 31 days for me to have the withdrawal bleed. Then the next cycle was 21 days, then 25, then 23, then 23 then 17 days - although this last one was really light, like not enough to need to use any products etc.
I thought I'd try the digital ones this time to see if I could try to narrow it down better, and these measure oestrogen levels as well as LH. As levels are rising, it starts to flash to say your peak is getting closer - that's where I'm at now. So haven't got the peak yet but just happy to see the progression from a circle to a flashing smiley.

Looking online, it can take a few months for cycles to actually settle so your body is probably just still getting used to it.

You maybe haven't ovulated yet; it's still really early with you only coming off Cerazette last month - or you maybe missed the peak when testing. Apparently, it can take a couple of cycles to start ovulating again.

I was used the easy@home strips and the femtometer ones.I was getting a line that would darken, but never caught the peak. I just thought I'd try the digital clear blue ones to see if that might help me to actually narrow down the fertile window, not just waiting for the peak. I've now had 3 days with a flashing smiley so that's high. Not the peak yet - but it did stop me stressing so much as the flashing smiley means it has seen an increase in some hormones. Plus, they do say that it a bfp is more likely when you're not stressing, so I think that has helped this month.

I did stumble across something online that the average timescale for conceiving after stopping Cerazette is 6 months xx
