Just wanted to let you all know what worked for us if you're trying! I have PCOS so wanted to make sure I was really making the most of every ovulation (I do ovulate but maybe 9-10 times a year rather than every month).
I read the impatient woman's guide to getting pregnant before TTC, found it funny and really easy to get my head round stuff! It also had great advice!

The first time we TTC I charted my temps and tracked everything on fertility friend. This was really useful, when I first came off the pull my luteal phase was quite short and it took a few cycles to lengthen up to my normal 12 days. Also made tracking ovulation much more accurate in relation to ovulation predictor kits.
I used OPK's each cycle, I did this for a few cycles before actually TTC and go used to how the colours changed for me in relation to ovulation. I found the colour changes could be different dependent on the batch as well.
Me and DH took wellman conception his and her tablets before hand! We also took extra Q10 supplements as we got a bit older for baby 2 and baby 3.
The main thing was the day that i got a positive OPK we BD, and then we BD the next day, preferably the PM of positive and AM of next day, but ended up mostly BD PM of the OPK+ day, and then PM of the next day.
Baby #1 took 3 months to conceive, but first month of BD'ing twice in 24 hours after +ve OPK we got a positive pregnant test. For baby #2 I did the same, BD about twice in 24 hours after +ve OPK and conceived first month. For baby #3 I did the same, and again conceived first month. I was 32, 35 and 37 for those and DH was 34, 37 and 39.
Hope that helps! I think I would potentially have got a bit stressed with it as it was quite intense, but luckily it all happened quickly.
Good luck all, baby dust!
