Ttc baby no2, digital opk and pcos

Hi,

I am ttc baby number 2, I have pcos and feel first was pure luck and blessing.

my dd is 4, and I have been ttc for last 6 months. Started using clearblue digital opk 3 months ago. First two months, had low fertility one day then the next straight to peak fertility. Also had usual symptoms I experience, sore and tender boobs, emotional etc.

this month, starting Thursday I have had 4 high fertility days, no peak yet, no other symptoms either?

I have pcos so know hormones etc are erratic. I have taken a pic of my test strips from the digital opk, from wed until this evening, and wondering if anyone can help shed light on if they are actually positive? I don’t know if, just because I’m so desperate to get pregnant that I’m reading in to everything more but I’d like to understand what the strips may mean?

thank you

Hiya, unfortunately ovulation predictor tests don't work for PCOS as they measure LH and our LH tends to be naturally raised/fluctates over the course of the month - so often they'll be positive when we aren't ovulating or won't pick up when we are. I've experienced this myself and gave up with them! Clearblue OPKs actually ine instructions they aren't accurate for PCOS unfortunately. Good luck :)

OPKs don't work for PCOS. How old are you, OP? Are you having periods? A regular period is generally a good sign that you are ovulating but depending on your age, if you've been trying for 6months and haven't yet fallen pregnant, I'd be going to the GP. Either for blood tests to check if you are ovulating or to start the path for clomid or letrozole. They aren't affected by the same IVF rules that say no treatment on the NHS if you already have a child (we are about to do go down this route for #2).

Thank you for both replying. I didn’t realise they don’t work for pcos. I have recently lost 2 stone and so usually have periods when I have some weight loss. I think this is how I’ve had them over the last two months.

I am 36 and so also aware the clock is ticking. I think it’s best to get to the doctor for some help 🙏
