Pill calculation

Need some help calculating my pills!

to cut a long story short, my doctor will not prescribe me any more of the pill that I’m on but I already have a 12 month supply at home which is fine as me and DP are happy for me to come off it in a year.

my issue is that we are wanting to go on holiday at the end of May next year and I’ve just tried to calculate if I’ve got enough pills left to cover me for the holiday and I seem to be nearly a month short!
I don’t want to risk coming off the pill a month before I go on holiday as I don’t want my period to start whilst there etc!
I know there is a period delay tablet but I’m not keen on that idea.

So I have 250 pills left and these are the, take 21 and have a 7 day break kind so I’ve calculated that I will only have enough to last me to the end of April. I’m trying to think how I can make them stretch further, if I took slightly longer breaks than 7 days and didn’t have sex around this time, do you think that would be okay?

Are they not prescribing any more because they know you have so many? In which case, just go back early next year for another prescription. 🤔

I have no idea about lengthening the pill-free times. I used to take mine without a break if I didn't want it have a period.

Why will they no longer prescribe it? If you do lengthen the pill break then you'd need 7 days of pill taking to be covered against pregnancy again.

Use condoms. Why have you stockpiled so many?

You can buy most pills from online pharmacies

They won’t prescribe me any more because they said I’ve been on it longer than I should have but for the sake of an extra month, I’m not concerned with the health risks

What pill is it?
Is it to do with your age?
As long as you have no risk factors (high bmi, high blood pressure, smoker) you can stay with the combined pill until age 50

I was on the 21/7 pill for 18 years, no one ever said anything about the length of time!

Hunnybunny1234 · 04/06/2022 11:38

It’s a high risk pill that you should only be on for a year and I’ve been on it for 6, that’s why they want me to change to a different one but I only need an extra months worth supply so no point changing to a new pill for the sake of 21 days!

What pill is it?

KarrotKake · 04/06/2022 11:47

Yes, the stash you have (how have you got so many?) will take you to early May.

What about taking a 2-3 month break now, then restarting for your holiday?

cherrybonbons · 04/06/2022 11:49

Dianette?
I was 30 when prescribed and was told only 6 months max. Was using it to clear my acne. If you've been on it for 6 years I would really consider coming off sooner rather than later
