Possibly Pregnant after all inclusive holiday

Hi everyone, hope this post is not taken badly. Basically I’ve just got a very faint line on a pregnancy test at 9DPO and I’ve spent the last 10 days eating and drinking everything in sight. I was planning on upping exercise and eating healthy now I’m back, to shift the pounds and feel better, but now I am possibly pregnant I’m wondering how to go about it. Any advice from anyone? Also worried about the amount of alcohol I drank! I am thrilled I am pregnant just shocked it happened so quickly as it was our first month trying.

All inclusive holiday! The mind boggles 😂

wizzywig · 12/05/2022 20:16

Oh man! Not an all inclusive holiday!

JosieK1988 · 12/05/2022 20:16

What boggles your mind about that?

The all-inclusive breakfast can do that.

@JosieK1988 take no notice!

To be honest, there's a lot of people who get pregnant when drinking etc, I know I fell pregnant when in Florida and I was on all the roller coasters and even doing bloomin free falling 'sky coasters' etc and my baby turned out fine! I too was having a drink every night and eating loads (one of the theme parks had their food and wine festival at the time). So don't worry.

Now that you know you're pregnant, stop drinking and just relax. If you're worried, mention it to your midwife at your booking in appointment.

Thank you

I must add I didn't know I was pregnant at the time lol!

Sounds like the perfect way to do it tbh. It won’t have done the baby any harm.

BattenburgDonkey · 12/05/2022 20:21

I wouldn’t worry OP, especially about drinking, at 9dpo and you are back off holiday already, you haven’t even missed a period yet, the drinking won’t have done any damage, so try and relax. As for loosing weight, do it the same way you would have done 10 days ago! Relax, don’t drink, eat healthy etc. Hope all goes well OP!

What exactly was advertised on the buffet table?

Kleptronic · 12/05/2022 20:29

9DPO = not sharing a blood supply with you yet, you're fine.

donchafeellikecrying · 12/05/2022 20:35

Wow didn't know you could get those kinds of all inclusives would have saved me a fortune on IVF 😂

Dammitthisisshit · 12/05/2022 20:37

Don’t worry. Are you taking folic acid? If not start that immediately.

drop alcohol now you know.

re exercise the advice is usually to not introduce anything new. So if you’re already a runner it’s fine to keep going, but if you don’t do it already don’t suddenly take it up. If you don’t currently exercise then walking and gentle to moderate swimming are really good and fine to start.

re food eat healthily, get enough veg and iron and let the weight come off slowly. There are foods to avoid (look at nhs website for current list) - don’t worry if you’ve had any so far - they are mostly to avoid you getting stomach bugs as you’d immune system works differently when pregnant.

You have absolutely nothing to worry about.
