Has anyone found changing and improving their diet has helped them to conceive? If so please could you share what you changed? I eat a lot of sugar and junk food and rarely eat a good meal

When we were trying we both switched to organic plant based foods. We were already plant based but not organic.
We cooked from scratch every meal, nothing processed passed our lips.
I stopped drinking alcohol altogether.
Increased water intake.
I also got a prescription for 5mg folic acid which I took religiously but no other vitamin or supplement.

After about a year and a half we fell.

We already have two. The first we fell the first cycle, the second took 6 months.

Our friends have just fallen because they forgot contraception once.
They both eat takeaway at least three times a week, she smokes, takes medication for ADHD and had a massive drinking session the week after she had conceived.... But she is only in her early thirties so I would say age has a much bigger play in how successful conception is to be honest.

I was ttc at 42. I gave up tea /coffee /pop.. Ate plenty of veg including lots of greens. Took folic acid. Took 3 cycles.... Had a ds at 43. 2.

Congratulations!

I forgot to say I also cut coffee down to half a cup a day too.

I guess there's just no way to say for sure then, every body is different. What works for one may not for another.
I had such high hopes when we first started as I felt like I was doing everything right but ultimately it just made no difference for me sadly.

Following. First baby fell instantly and second time it’s been 6 months and not a hint of anything. I think I drink too much coffee. But it’s all I have atm!

There is a def connection between coffee and mc.

Both times I've fallen pregnant it's been when I was focusing on improving my protein intake (the first time following a low carb diet for weight loss, the second time to try to improve my energy levels after nearly two years of BF and broken nights).

Yes, I do think my and DH’s diet made a difference. We conceived on month four of trying.

I was eating loads of fruit, whole milk, less meat, more eggs, avocados, juice, lots of veg in my meals. We were both taking lots of supplements, for me that included b6 and iron. Loads of water and no fizzy pop.

We ate really minimal junk food/processed food. Very little alcohol and caffeine. Some people cut out gluten and sugar too. Good luck OP!

I did find this really helpful guide that breaks down fertility-friendly foods in a simple, realistic way (no weird supplements or perfection vibes).
It covers things like protein + fibre combos, healthy fats, iron/folate foods, and easy budget swaps.
