Hello! Am new here but just wanted to share journey with anyone similar. I am 39 and husb 37. We have a 21mo who conceived after 5/6 months of trying (was aware of cervical mucus and used a tracking app that identified a fertile week), was easier than I thought it would be at the time! We are ready for number two and have been trying I think 9 months now - the first couple a similar approach, a few months off for reasons of life stress, and more determined for the last 5. Had a chemical pregnancy 3 cycles ago and that was gutting. Have a regular 28-30 day cycle -although the last 5 or so months my period has been a little lighter than I'm used to -(although, also over thinking things) so everytime I think ??? implantation bleed??? Started using OPK last cycle and it has given me confidence that I was reading my cervical mucus correctly, but last cycle it didn't work and currently I'm 48 hours post LH surge so fingers crossed! Definitely feeling the ups and downs so much more this time - plus get constantly asked if I'm pregnant yet/where's our second one which is not great. Have a fertility appt next month and still hoping we won't need it.
Would love to hear from anyone else on the same lines!

I am in the same position. I am 35 . I have a 23 month old. Been trying for number 2 for 6 months now with no luck. I know it is not a very long time but it is frustrating. My period is also regular and I get positive opks. Period much lighter since I had my child.

Sending lots of luck to you!

I'm in the waiting/hopeful/disappointment part of the cycle now - I'm really finding this part hard - every sensation I have I start overanalysing it! First pregnancy I remember just feeling like I was about to have my period - a bit bloated, a hint of crampiness from week 4-6, and I had heaps of fatigue/nausea from about 6 weeks, but I didn't get classic early pregnancy symptoms in that first month so I don't know even why I'm analysing everything as a sign!

Sending luck to you too. I know exactly what you mean. I was lucky the last time I got pregnant , had only stopped using contraception and was not symptom spotting I couldn’t even remember date of last period when I started trying , tested when I realised it had been ages since my last period .It’s the analysing and symptom spotting that drives me mad . I hardly had symptoms last pregnancy until about 8 weeks. I’m at the end of the tww now myself and know exactly what you mean , it’s so hard not to keep thinking about it! :( I did an early test at 11dpo which was negative so I have a feeling I’m out this month, I usually do not bother with early testing dunno why I bothered !

I'm similar. I haven't been doing many tests because my AF has always been on time - but have done a couple after AF convinced maybe an implantation bleed. I feel like testing early is just seeing up for disappointing and doubting the result. I did have one first time, but it was transient spotting for maybe a day, and I remember not even thinking that's what it was, just my cycle being weird.
I'm just 4dpo so trying to not get too hopeful.
