Without going into the huge backstory, I am involved in fertility treatment, as well as trying naturally, and the clinic have advised against any travel to anywhere that has ever had Zika still. (They won't treat the female for 2 months after any travel or male for 6 months after and don't recommend either party travels once a pregnancy is achieved) I was well aware of this being a concern back around 2018 but considering many countries haven't had outbreaks for a while, I was under the assumption it wasn't too much of a concern.
I know it's a very fortunate position to be in to be even considering a holiday but it's surprising at just how many places have had Zika and are now ruled out - for now and essentially until the baby is born if I do end up pregnant. (i.e. Mexico, Caribbean, USA (although presumably you could take a judgement call on which state you're visiting), loads of Africa - everywhere that's hot atm!)
It seems that my friends who are not involved in fertility treatment had no idea so I was wondering if it's something that others are aware of? Would it stop you from going to one of these places?
I don't think if I had been trying naturally I would have even though about it being a concern anymore..
