Hi all

I am currently under the care of Mr Shehata clinic. I had 4 miscarriages before I went to see him in 2020 and ended up pregnant under his plan of prednisolone and intrilipids. I stopped taking the hydroxychloroquine as I suffered from extreme hair loss 2 weeks after taking this drug. I ended up having my baby prematurely due to intrauterine growth issues but other than that my son is healthy. We went back to the clinic to try for another baby and I was told to stick to the previous plan but this time continue with hydroxychloroquine to prevent the growth issues we had last time during pregnancy as he didn't feel this is what caused my hair loss. Two weeks after taking the drug again I experienced extreme hair loss so stopped taking the drug.

Mr S has now amended my plan to take GCSF injections to replace the hydroxychloroquine. I just wanted to know if anyone has gone down this route and had a successful pregnancy? I feel so anxious about taking these injections in case they cause any long terms issues with myself or any complications/defects with my baby or even miscarriage in my next pregnancy. Any advice or experiences with regards to GCSF would be most appreciated.

I will be 41 in June and would like to have a child as soon as possible but the fear and worry of something happening when time is so limited really makes me feel down and low.

Hi @Sophi81 I'm under Dr Shehata too. My situation is different to you, I am on the full complex plan with pred, hydroxy and intralipids but I lost my 6th baby in November - tested as a healthy girl. I saw Dr S last week and he wants to add gcsf to my plan, along with all the other meds (I'm doing ivf so it's a lot of medication).

I haven't tried it yet but just wanted to post. I am willing to try it, but I'm doing my next embryo transfer without it as I'm trying sitagliptin and metformin this time. There is an immune thread on here and I think one person is on it too, but no had success yet. X

Hi @VenusStarr so sorry to hear of your losses. How many miscarriages did you have under Mr S? How do you feel about going on the GCSF? I'm really worried in case it causes any problems. I hope it all works out for you in your next cycle xx

@VenusStarr it's definitely a lot of medications! No sure what implications that will have 😩
I haven't seen the other thread. Will have a search. Thanks

This is the thread @Sophi81

Ive had 2 losses on the plan, my first was a chemical pregnancy, I think poor implantation. The second was a missed miscarriage, heartbeat stopped at 6+2. I've had 3 other MMCs not on treatment that stopped growing at the same point, so there's a definite pattern to my losses.

I feel like gcsf is a last resort for us. If my next transfer fails or we have another loss, we'll add in the gcsf and do a few ivf rounds back up back. I'll be honest, I haven't looked into it in much detail as we're not doing it yet xx

@VenusStarr awww I'm so sorry to hear that. I really hope it all goes well for you at your next transfer. Thank you for sending me the link xx
