December 25th due date, skip a month?

Essentially as the title says, we have been trying for a few months with no luck and wondering whether to skip this month because of the dates. We already have 1 child with a December birthday and that month is so expensive already, plus being a Christmas baby is crap and they would be lumbered with that for life whereas 1 more month for us is not so much to bare.
However my friend said she feels sorry for her daughter having a January birthday and I would also have to wait another few months for childcare funding if that was the case.
I know inevitably they come when they come but would you knowingly try with that due date predicted?

It all depends on circumstances, but from your OP I would suggest you skip it. Someone with no children or with known fertility issues, no other expenses, doesn't spend a lot at Christmas/has loads of money etc I'd say go for it.

I’m debAting to drop my trying efforts for next cycle as if conceived would have a due date around 31/12. DS2 is 14/1 and I am 15/1. On a January level, I enjoy birthday then, always have and still do. Yes the childcare funding was slightly irritating but it’s fine

We conceived accidentally and ended up with a due date of 23/12. DS was 4 days late. He likes having a Christmas birthday so far, but planning class parties etc is difficult and it does make for an expensive month!

We are in a similar predicament, so interested to see responses. Myself and DH have summer birthdays so we don’t have any personal experience of how much of a pain having a Christmas birthday is.

I'm skipping a month. If still ttc this time next year then I don't think I would skip but dp and I agree that we would rather not have a December baby if possible.

What’s the issue with childcare funding with January baby please?

Kay7766923 · 31/03/2022 21:44

@redxlondon it starts from the term following their 3rd birthday so can be a bit of a wait having a baby at the beginning of a term.

Thank you for all the advice and suggestions. I have decided we’re not going to try as we have previous months, but if we want sex in the fertile window we’re not going to not have it. I won’t be doing ovulation tests this month so if I do conceive it’ll be by complete fluke!

My third was due on the 26/12, born 9/1. It’s fine, I would never have delayed TTC because of it.

Mummyme87 · 31/03/2022 22:46

I wouldn’t mind January if didn’t have mine and DS2 in middle of jan already. Early December I was fine about also, just not late. I also know baby would be born no later than a few days after due date due to previous history.
Think I’m going to not do OPK this month, just have sex as and when. Then get back on it next cycle.

AF came today, so CD1 again

My DD was due Christmas eve.

Her actual birthday is 24th October.
