Getting pregnant after 2 early miscarriages.

Hi all,

I’ve done 2 threads on here before, both when I got a positive result but unfortunately they both ended in a loss (at the 5 week point).

Currently pregnant again, held off on doing any tests even though my period is almost a week late now so I caved today and did a test. As expected it’s positive but I didn’t expect it to be such a strong positive.

I still don’t feel anything but dread and worry, especially as checks have shown that while they can’t see anything wrong with me I do have 2 large fibroids which could potentially be causing issues.

I’m at the sitting and waiting stage and it’s torture. I was wondering if anyone has gone through multiple losses and had a successful pregnancy after? And If you had any secrets to help the nerves during the waiting stage.

Hi

Sorry to hear about your losses. I've had 3 losses in total. One at 20 weeks, 8 weeks and 7. I have been advised to get on progesterone and baby aspirin as soon as a get a bfp. Worth looking into that maybe.

I had 3 losses (2 around 6 weeks, 1 MMC around 9 weeks). I conceived within two weeks of my third, and am now 30 weeks.

I didn't have any investigations as I became pregnancy quickly, but I was referred to a recurrent miscarriage service after the third one.

I was also booked for a scan at 6 weeks with this one by the EPAU, and once a heartbeat was seen they prescribed progesterone & aspirin. I obviously don't know if they made a difference or not, I may have just got lucky this time.

I also have several fibroids (diagnosed after 2nd MC as I was having really heavy periods) but they are small, around 2cm, & the gynaecologist didn't think they would cause a problem with conception or pregnancy. The size and location can make a difference so definitely worth asking to see a gynaecologist to discuss if you haven't already done so.

Sorry to hear about your losses. I had five losses and then went on to have a healthy baby.

Unfortunately there is absolutely nothing you can do but wait. A very strong positive is a good sign but even high HCG isn't a guarantee of a successful pregnancy.

The first trimester is always very difficult after losses.

I've had 2 MCs, currently 22 weeks pregnant now and all going well.

I don't really have much advice. Can you book to do bloods at you GP to see if the HCG is increasing as it should? If I am working it our right you are 5 weeks now? So a clear blue digital weeks indication should give you 3+ weeks that might give you some comfort, it gave me some.

Also in 2 weeks time can you go to EPU or book a private scan?

Thanks everyone for the messages,
Got bloods done today which should hopefully be helpful and had an internal ultrasound (fibroid related) but at least they got a good look in. Won’t hear any results until Friday so just a waiting game.

I bought a digital so will definitely try that on Thursday, hopefully it will show 3+ weeks which would be a good indication that at least the hormones are increasing.

It’s absolutely awful waiting! Every tweak in my stomach (and there’s a good few!) has me racing to the bathroom expecting the worst.

Thanks for sharing your stories!
