I had 3 dental X-rays and I am very worried will the baby be ok? 😢 has anyone had dental X-rays or any X-rays very early on in pregnancy? And if so was your baby ok?

I had a lot more than 3 and my baby is more than ok..she is gorgeous. And now a toddler and all is very well with her.
I really wouldn’t worry.
For me, I weighed up the tiny tiny risk of an X-ray versus the potential complication of having an infection in my body.

(admin support in dental practice) I would try not to worry - easier said than done, I know. The dose for dental x-rays is tiny and the way they are designed the beam is concentrated at your teeth. The staff generally exit the room to do them because they take would often take 10-20 x-rays a day (pre covid), so that exposure would eventually add up. From what I gather, it's out of an abundance of caution that dental x-rays are avoided in pregnancy rather than it being a massive risk.

Please relax op. Dental X-rays are very localised and low In radiation level. I had a mri while unknowingly pregnant for recurring sinusitis, and my doctor wasn’t remotely concerned by that or the steroid pack I took for it at the start. Again, it focused on my head so nothing blasting at my uterus. My DD is totally fine. Congrats on the pregnancy!

MRI doesn't use ionising radiation though. Completely different thing.

Dental xrays are low dose, focused away from the abdomen, the risk is tiny. I use xrays all the time at work, and unless it's a chest spine or pelvis, the risks are miniscule.

Ah I didn’t realise there was a difference, but glad no matter what that it sounds like all is low risk for OP. Good luck for your pregnancy!
