Hiya
I am currently ttc my 2nd DC but I have been recently diagnosed with a underactive thyroid.
This was discovered through a blood test to determine why my AF had gone absent for almost 4 months.
What concerns me is that I have just turned 37 and there is a history of early menopause in my family. I have also heard that a underactive thyroid can prevent ovulation and create problems ttc.
Do you think that at 37 with early menopause in the family coupled with a underactive thyroid I should be looking for a referral to a fertility expert ie a reproductive endocrinologist to try and sort me out before it becomes too late for me.
I am now on thyroxine a lose dose to start and I am due to have another blood test done on January the 7th to check my hormones and thyroid again.
My blood test also showed that I have a high FSH but I repeated this test again myself with a home brand and it came out negative meaning it wasn't high at that point.
What would you do in my situation as I feeel quite anxious and confused atm.
