Worrying about my fertility due to previous infection

About 7 years ago I was in the hospital with pelvic inflammatory disease, I was in so much pain, bleeding heavily and couldn't stand up straight for a week. I finished my antibiotics and from there suffered with heavy painful periods and painful sex. I went to the Dr eventually who referred me for a laparoscopy as he suspected endometriosis. Luckily, they didn't find endo, but what they did find was scar tissue from my infection. One tube was stuck to the side of my womb with tissue, the other one curled in n itself and the back of my womb was stuck to my bowel. My surgeon managed to divide all my scar tissue and get things looking back to normal. When I woke up I asked him if there was any reason I wasn't getting pregnant and he said no. My partner (at the time) and I, thought maybe he was shooting blanks. My relationship ended and a few years later I met my current partner. He is the love of my life, were engaged and are wanting to start a family soon. I was worrying about pregnancy because I have a slight bicornuate uterus but generally the outlook is good with proper antenatal care and regular check-ups, but what I'm really worried about is whether the scar tissue has affected my fertility. We don't know yet because we haven't started trying but I'm really worrying about it. I read that in 70% of cases, scar tissue can come back just by having surgery to remove it. I wondered if there is anyone here with a similar experience that was successful in catching pregnant and what their experience was if they feel comfortable sharing. Sorry for the long post, I hope I can find some help here...
