TTC Baby No.2 Post C-section

Hello Mumsnet,
My first DS is currently 9 months and DH and I really want another baby to have them close together. We have been TTC for 4 months now and headed into our 5th cycle of trying. I've taken OPK's and every month I get the smiley face. However, we have had no joy and I'm starting to worry that this has something to do with the aftermath of a C-section or maybe my hormones still unbalanced after birth?
Just feeling worried and wondering if anyone is/ was in a similar situation.

I'm in a similar position! Although DD is 18 months. We've been trying since she turned 1 in September.

I've actually just booked to have investigations into whether the c-section has healed properly. I'm 41 in a couple of weeks, and feel that time isn't on my side. I want to rule out any problems as early as possible, or find them so we can try to fix them.

@ThatsNotMyGolem hopefully you get some answers, because sometimes it's much worse when you have no explanation. Can I ask what kind of investigations are you hoping to have? I was thinking about asking for an ultrasound.
I also find that my periods are much more painful and heavy since the section.

I'm not TTC post c-section, but I was a few years ago and the one thing I remember being told was not to try for at least a year after the birth to reduce the risk of complications in a second pregnancy (scary things like uterine rupture) from a scar that isn't yet fully healed. Is there any reason you're in a rush? It may be that your body just needs a bit longer to recover from the first pregnancy. I would talk to your GP about whether it's risky to TTC yet.
